National Sales Slow SBS's Q2

National Sales Slow SBS's Q2

Spanish Broadcasting System reports consolidated net revenue of $35.8 million in the second quarter, down 3 percent from the same period in 2009, with most of that due to a 4 percent drop in the radio segment. And that drop, says SBS, was due to lower national sales in all but two of its radio markets.

Big Jump In Indecency Complaints In January

The FCC releases its complaint figures for the first quarter, and January saw a startling 128,301 complaints alleging broadcast and radio TV indecency -- nearly all of the 132,416 complaints in the quarter. Though the commission doesn't specify what programming drew the complaints, but the spike could be related to an activist group's campaign.
