PPM Analysis: Urban Contemporary. RadioInfo managing editor
Mike Kinosian presents the first of three format analyses of the performances of stations based on data from the January 2016 PPM survey from
Nielsen Audio. The first format up is urban contemporary. Kinosian observes that, as a format, urban contemporary is a stable performer. He writes, "No station on our UC sample had a positive or negative fluctuation in excess of one full share, and 59% of the panel is actually either down or flat in January 2016, versus Holiday 2015." In this report find charts showing how stations ranked in their markets (three urban contemporary stations finished #2 in their respective PPM markets) and how they ranked by market share. See it all
