PPM Analysis: Classic Hits-Oldies. RadioInfo managing editor
Mike Kinosian presents the final in his three-part analysis of the performances – in the
Nielsen Audio October 2016 PPM survey – of stations airing gold-based formats. Previously, we looked at adult hits and classic rock. Today, we turn
to classic hits-oldies. Two stations stand out with regard to (6+) share increases from September's survey to October's:
Cumulus Media's KCMO-FM, Kansas City (rising from a 7.2 to and 8.1) and
iHeartMedia's KLOU, St. Louis (from a 6.4 share to a 6.9). Year-over-year share increases were dominated by KCMO-FM as the station rockets from a 4.4 share to an 8.1, jumping from #10 in the market in October
2015, to #1. Seven stations in all airing the format ranked #1 in their respective PPM markets in October. Find out which ones
