1) Washington, D.C. – On the strength of a four-tenths' gain (9.6 – 10.0, 6+),
American University's WAMU not only makes it four successive months at #1, "The Mind Is Our Medium" joins
Hubbard Broadcasting-owned all-news WTOP (13 times) and
iHeartMedia adult contemporary WASH (seven times) as the market's only stations to register double-digits (6+). The fourth successive improvement by WPRS "Praise 104.1" (2.9 – 3.2 –
3.4 – 4.6 – 4.9, 6+) elevates the
Radio One gospel outlet from sixth to fifth. Sixty-percent (60%) of its two-share net increase since July came from October's +1.2. Prior to October, the last time "Praise 104.1" crossed the four-share threshold (6+) was April 2015 (4.2). Climbing from #19 to #17, the flagship of the
NFL's Washington, D.C. franchise –
Red Zebra Broadcasting's WTEM "
ESPN 980″ – improves for the fourth successive time (1.3 – 1.4 – 1.6 – 2.3 – 2.4, 6+), yielding a +1.1 advantage in that stretch. Significant fluctuations continue for
Greater Washington Educational Telecommunications Association's WETA "Classical 90.9," which lost a full-share in August (3.5 – 2.5, 6+) but then regained seven-tenths of it in September. In November, however, WETA falters by -1.1 to 2.0 (6+). The last time WETA fell below a three-share (6+) was in February 2014 (2.8). Moreover, it spirals from #13 to #19. In addition to being the third straight time that
Cumulus Media hot AC WRQX (#14 to #17) registers a negative trend (3.2 – 3.1 – 2.9 – 2.4, 6+) for a combined -.8, "Mix 107.3" has its lowest 6+-share since January's 2.1. Off for the fourth consecutive sweep resulting in a combined -1.8 (6.1 – 5.9 – 5.4 – 4.7 – 4.3, 6+), Radio One-owned urban AC WMMJ "Majic 102.3" drifts from fifth to eighth. "Majic" now trails its direct competitor –
Howard University's WHUR (5.7 – 5.9, +.2, unchanged at #3, 6+) – by 1.6 shares. WHUR is bouncing back from a -.9 in October and its lowest 6+-showing since February's 4.8. Flat at #20,
CBS Radio Spanish tropical WLZL "El Zol 107.9" has its seventh straight monthly without an increase (2.4 – 2.1 – 1.9 – 1.7 – 1.6 – 1.5 – 1.5 – 1.4, 6+).

Boston – Two news and information facilities in the "Hub of the Universe" each score increases of seven-tenths:
CBS Radio-owned WBZ-AM (6.0,
fifth to fourth, 6+) and
Boston University's WBUR (steady at #8, 6+). News/talk hybrid WBZ-AM enjoys its highest 6+-stat since April (also 6.0), while WBUR returns to August's 4.1 (6+). Taking one-half share gains each are
iHeartMedia CHR WXKS-FM "Kiss 108" (5.6, sixth to fifth, 6+) and public WCRB "Classical Radio Boston" (#15 to #14, 6+). As far as "Kiss 108" is concerned, the +.5 curtails four consecutive declines (6.9 – 6.1 – 5.5 – 5.3 – 5.1, 6+) that resulted in a combined -1.8. WXKS-FM fell to #6 in October, following six successive times at #3. Unchanged at #13, cross-town rival – CBS Radio's WODS "Amp" – is up four-tenths to 3.5 (6+), bringing to an end three consecutive downward sweeps that yielded a loss of one full-share (4.1 – 3.5 – 3.5 – 3.1, 6+). In
June, "Amp" had its string of successive up or flat monthlies end at three (3.8 – 4.1 – 4.1 – 4.4, 6+). This is the fourth successive positive trend for "Classical Radio Boston" (1.6 – 1.9 – 2.4 – 2.7 – 3.2, 6+), which has exactly doubled its 6+-share since July. Tremendous consistency at the top two spots still exists between
Greater Media cluster-mates WROR "Boston's Classic Hits" (#1 for the eleventh successive monthly) and adult contemporary sibling WMJX "Magic 106.7" (runner-up for the eighth consecutive ratings period) but WROR is down by a combined two full-shares over the last four sweeps (8.6 – 8.4 – 8.1 – 7.4 – 6.6, 6+). While 8.6 in July was the strongest 6+-share in WROR's PPM-history, the current 6.6 is the weakest since "Holiday" 2015 (5.5). "Magic" ping-pongs from 6.3 (September) to 6.6 (October) back to 6.3 (November, 6+). When it registered a 6.6 in September, "Magic" halted three successive down or flat trends for a combined
-1.2 (7.5 – 6.9 – 6.3 – 6.3, 6+). A -.6 in July, meanwhile, stopped a successive string of five increases for a cumulative
+1.2 (6.3 – 6.5 – 6.8 – 7.2 – 7.3 – 7.5, 6+). In addition to "Boston's Greatest Hits,"
Entercom sports outlet WEEI-FM also regresses by eight-tenths (6.2 – 5.4, 6+) as the
Boston Red Sox flagship returns to sixth from fourth. October's +1.4 by WEEI-FM put the brakes on four straight downtrends that produced a -1.1 (5.9 – 5.7 – 5.3 – 5.1 – 4.8, 6+). Co-owned/similarly formatted WEEI-
AM (#24) adds two-tenths (.1 – .3, 6+), curtailing seven straight sweeps without an increase (.2 – .2 – .2 – .1 – .1 – .1 – .1 – .1, 6+). Still in the sports format, by dropping two-tenths (to 6.1 (6+), CBS Radio-owned
New England Patriots flagship WBZ-FM (steady at #3) sees its string of up or flat trends end at four (4.3 – 4.3 – 4.4 – 4.4 – 6.3, 6+). Following three straight modest gains (2.3 – 2.5 – 2.6 – 2.7, 6+), iHeartMedia's WBWL "101.7 The Bull – Boston's New Hit Country" surrenders six-tenths and slides from #15 to #18 (2.1, 6+).

Detroit – Directly following September's

Cumulus Media talker WJR progresses from third to second. The key station of the
Detroit Lions registers its strongest 6+-stat since March (6.7 as well) and trails newly-installed
market pacesetter –
CBS Radio classic hits-oldies WOMC "104.3 Detroit's Greatest Hits" – by just one-tenth. This is the third straight gain for "Detroit's Greatest Hits" (5.4 – 6.0 – 6.4 – 6.8, 6+), which supplants sports cluster-mate/
Detroit Tigers flagship WXYT-FM "97.1 The Ticket" at #1. In addition to falling from first to third, "The Ticket" is -1.8 in three straight declines (7.8 – 7.7 – 7.5 – 6.0, 6+). After a one-month hiatus from the top spot, WXYT-FM returned to #1 in September and repeated there in October; "The Ticket" was #1 in April, May, June, and July. Steady at #4,
Greater Media's WRIF "Rocks Detroit" posts its fourth straight improvement (5.1 – 5.2 – 5.5 – 5.6 – 5.7, 6+) and has been between 5.1 – 5.9 (6+) in each sweep since February. Notching one-half share improvements are its all-news sibling WWJ (unchanged at #7, 6+) and
iHeartMedia adult contemporary and mainstream CHR cluster-mates WNIC (5.2 – 5.7, sixth to fourth, 6+) and WKQI "Channel 95.5 – Detroit's #1 Hit Music Station" (#11 to #9, 6+). The past four trends for WWJ are 5.0 – 5.5 – 5.0 – 5.5 (August through November, 6+). A +.4 in
August halted six successive months without an increase (7.8 – 7.6 – 6.5 – 5.7 – 5.2 – 5.2 – 4.6, 6+) that led to a combined
-3.2; WWJ was the market leader (6+) in January and February. Meanwhile, "Channel 95.5" is up or flat for the third successive time (3.9 – 4.2 – 4.2 – 4.7, 6+). Inching up from #19 to #18, iHeartMedia classic rocker WDTW "106.7 The D" adds one-tenth to 2.3 (6+), halting four consecutive negative trends that produced a -1.2 (3.4 – 3.0 – 2.8 – 2.6 – 2.2, 6+). There is still more "bouncing" for Greater Media urban-rhythmic oldies WMGC "The Bounce," which transitioned from sports to urban-rhythmic oldies on July 1. It quickly posted back-to-back gains totaling a combined +7.3, vaulting from #23 (June, .7, 6+) to #15 (July, 3.1, 6+) to
#1 (August, 8.0, 6+). Not only was it just a one-month stay at #1, "The Bounce" sputtered by
-2.7 in September;
-1.2 in October; and now
-.8 in November (8.0 – 5.3 – 4.1 – 3.3, 6+). Already down by more than 50% since August, "Bounce" has quickly spiraled from #1 (August) to #5 (September) to #12 (October) to #13 (November). Off by one-half share (3.1 – 2.6, 6+),
Radio One urban AC WDMK "105.9 Kiss-FM" slides from #14 to #16. With each station's
September 2016 6+-stat in parentheses, these
Bell Media (Canada) properties are unlisted for the second straight month: alternative CIMX (1.6); triple A CIDR (1.3); classic hits-oldies CKWW (.2); and talk CKLW (.1).

Miami – It borders on historic across the 48
PPM-markets to see adult contemporary stations ranking #1 and #2 in a non-Christmas music
influenced sweep. Such is the case though in Miami this particular ratings period though as
Cox Media Group-owned WFEZ "Easy 93.1," coming off a +.6 in October, marches from third to first (6.1 – 6.7 – 7.2, +.5, 6+). As a result, it displaces perennial market leader,
Entercom AC WLYF "Lite FM," which was -1.4 in October and now flat in November (8.4 – 7.0 – 7.0, 6+). At #1 the past four months, "Lite FM" drops to the runner-up slot. Prior to October's -1.4, "Lite" was without a decrease the previous three sweeps (7.9 – 8.1 – 8.4 – 8.4, 6+). Over the last
nine survey periods, very consistent "Easy" had a high of 6.7 (October) and a low of 6.1 (September). In its fifth straight monthly without a decrease (2.6 – 2.7 – 2.8 – 2.8 – 2.9 – 3.6, 6+),
iHeartMedia Spanish contemporary WZTU "Donde Viven Tus Hits" (#15 to #11) dials up a +.7 for its strongest 6+-stat since February's 4.0. Extending its successive string of monthlies without a decrease to seven (3.2 – 3.2 – 3.4 – 3.5 – 3.5 – 3.5 – 3.9 – 4.0, 6+),
CBS Radio rhythmic CHR WPOW "Power 96" advances from eighth to seventh. Tied for #5 in October,
Spanish Broadcasting System Spanish contemporary WCMQ "Zeta 92.3" records a gain of six-tenths (4.9 – 5.5, +) and is now in sole possession of fifth-place. Down for the fourth straight time for a combined -1.7 (4.6 – 4.4 – 4.1 – 3.5 – 2.9, 6+),
Univision Radio Spanish tropical WRTO "Mix 98.3" drifts from #12 to #15. Finishing first in
June, and then second the next three sweeps, Cox Media Group urban AC WHQT "Hot 105" fell to fourth in October. It is without an increase for the fifth straight time and is -1.8 in that stretch (8.2 – 8.0 – 7.2 – 7.1 – 6.4 – 6.4, 6+). The last time "Hot" was below a seven-share (6+) was October 2015 (6.4 as well). Climbing from #29 to #28,
Moody Bible Institute's WRMB doubles its October 6+-share to .4 and halts ten consecutive down or flat trends (.8 – .7 – .7 – .6 -.5 -.4 -.4 .3 -.3 -.2 -.2, 6+).

Seattle – Continuing an exceptionally impressive roll, KQMV "MOViN 92.5 – All The Hits" registers its third straight gain (5.7 – 6.4 – 6.9 – 8.0, 6+) and is #1 for the
eleventh consecutive sweep. Going back to August, the
Hubbard Broadcasting CHR is up by more than two full-shares (+2.3, 6+).
Showing great stability in the last five sweeps (3.5 – 3.3 – 3.6 – 3.5 – 3.4, 6+),
CBS Radio's KMPS "94.1 Seattle Country Music Radio" breaks out a +.7 to 4.1, its best 6+-stat since April (also 6.1) and enters the top ten (#11 to #6). Improving by six-tenths each – and both taking major ranker jumps into the top ten – are public KNKX (3.3 – 3.9, #14 to #8, 6+) and
Sinclair Broadcast Group all-news KOMO (3.0 – 3.6, #19 to #10, 6+). KNKX (formerly KPLU) and KOMO are in three-share range (6+) for the sixth and fifteenth straight times, respectively. Having improved by six-tenths in October, Hubbard Broadcasting's KVRQ "Rock 98.9" relinquishes twice the gain
(-1.2) and sinks from #11 to beyond the top 20 (#22). The decline ends three consecutive increases that yielded nine-tenths (2.5 – 2.6 – 2.8 – 3.4, 6+). Eroding by one-half share each are CBS Radio classic rock and adult hits siblings KZOK (fourth to sixth, 6+) and KJAQ "96.5 Jack FM" (#9 to #15), as well as Bonneville sports outlet KIRO-AM "710 AM
ESPN Seattle" (3.5 – 3.0, #9 to #15, 6+). KZOK is down for the third successive time for a cumulative full-share loss (5.1 – 4.8 – 4.6 – 4.1, 6+), while "Jack" is without an increase for the fifth consecutive sweep and is -.8 in that time frame (3.8 – 3.7 – 3.7 – 3.6 – 3.5 – 3.0, 6+). This is the twelfth successive time that Sinclair Broadcast Group hot AC KPLZ "Star 101.5" (3.6 – 3.3, -.3, #8 to #13, 6+) has been in three-share range (6+). Unchanged at #24,
Classic Radio classical KING is off by a combined -1.1 in three downward monthlies in a row (2.5 – 2.2 – 1.5 – 1.4, 6+).

Phoenix – Progressing by seven-tenths each are
CBS Radio rhythmic CHR KALV "Live 101.5 The Valley's #1 Hit Music Leader" (3.7 – 4.4, tenth to
fifth, 6+) and
Farmworker Educational Radio regional Mexican KNAI "Campesina" (2.7 – 3.4, #16 to #12, 6+). Down in four straight sweeps for a combined -1.6 (5.0 – 4.1 – 4.0 – 3.9 – 3.4, 6+), CBS Radio's KMLE "Country @ 107.9" responds with a +.6 to 4.0 and cracks the top ten (#11 to #8), leapfrogging its rival –
iHeartMedia's KNIX "102.5 #1 for New Country" (eighth to tenth, 6+). KNIX is down or flat for the third consecutive sweep (4.3 – 4.0 – 3.8 – 3.8, 6+). In a somewhat similar situation as KMLE,
Entravision Spanish adult hits KVVA "Jose" also improves by six-tenths (1.8, #25 to #23, 6+) to stifle four consecutive negative trends that yielded a -.9 (2.1 – 2.0 – 1.8 – 1.3 – 1.2, 6+). Albeit down a combined six-tenths in back-to-back monthlies (6.9 – 6.7 – 6.3, 6+), iHeartMedia adult contemporary KESZ is #1 for the
26th successive ratings period. Three-tenths behind KESZ (at 6.0, 6+) is
Hubbard Broadcasting classic rocker KSLX, which falters by six-tenths to curtail three successive upward moves (5.9 – 6.4 – 6.5 – 6.6, 6+). A one-half share decline (3.4 – 2.9, 6+) drops
The Yucaipa Companies' hot AC KMVA "Hot" from #11 to #15. After six straight increases that nearly doubled its 6+-share (1.9 – 2.2 – 2.3 – 2.5 – 2.7 – 3.1 – 3.7, 6+), "Hot" regressed by three-tenths in October.

Minneapolis – By picking up one-half share to 6.2 (6+),
CBS Radio adult hits KZJK "104.1 Jack FM Playing What We Want" (steady at #6) crosses the six-share level for the
first time since the "Holiday" 2015 report when it reached 6.1. For the past ten monthlies, "Jack" has been exclusively in three-share territory. After registering four successive declines that totaled a -1.4 (5.0 – 4.7 – 4.3 – 4.1 – 3.6, 6+), country sibling KMNB "BUZ'N @102.9" (flat at #13, 6+) picks up three-tenths to 3.9 (6+); 3.6 in October was its lowest 6+-share since the "Holiday" 2015 report. Meanwhile, crosstown
iHeartMedia-owned KEEY "K-102 Minnesota's Country Station" is without an increase for the fifth straight ratings period (6.3 – 5.8 – 5.5 – 5.5 – 5.3 – 5.1, 6+) and slides from ninth to tenth. It was certainly going to be a hard act for iHeartMedia's KFXN to follow, given that the flagship of the
NFL's
Minnesota Vikings was a combined
+3.6 in September and October. With an 8.9 in October, "Sports Radio FM 100.3 K-FAN" boasted the best 6+-share in its
PPM-history and took over the market's #1 position. Albeit down four-tenths to 8.5 (6+), "K-FAN" repeats as the leader. The -.4, however, brings to an end four straight gains (4.4 – 4.8 – 5.3 – 6.7 – 8.9, 6+), as "K-FAN more than doubled its 6+-share since June (
+4.5, 6+). Dropping from second to third, KSTP-FM "KS-95 Today's Variety" remains in a funk. The
Hubbard Broadcasting hot AC has not had an increase since February and has lost more than three full-shares (-3.1, 6+) or roughly 30% of its 6+-share in that stretch (10.2 – .8 – 9.8 – 9.8 – 9.1 – 9.1 – 8.9 – 7.7 – 7.6 – 7.1, 6+). Although unchanged at #5, iHeartMedia classic hits-oldies KQQL "Kool 108" falters for the fifth straight ratings period for a combined -1.7 (8.0 – 7.5 – 7.2 – 6.8 – 6.5 – 6.3, 6+).

San Diego – Part of a three-way logjam at #7 (up from #12 in October), KOGO rolls out a +.7 to 4.5 (6+). The
iHeartMedia talker had been in
three-share range the past 16 sweeps. Co-owned mainstream CHR KHTS adds six-tenths (5.1 – 5.7, 6+) to jump from fourth to second. This is the best (6+) showing for "Channel 93.3 – San Diego's #1 Hit Music Station" since May 2015 (also 5.7). Without a decrease for the fourth consecutive ratings period (3.9 – 4.1 – 4.1 – 4.4 – 4.9, 6+), XHTZ "Z-90.3 Today's Hit Music" propels from sixth to fourth. Three-tenths of a share separates the market's top three November 2016 finishers, including
Entercom adult contemporary KXSN "Sunny 98.1," which is up or flat for the fourth straight time (5.1 – 5.3 – 5.3 – 5.8 – 5.9, 6+) and flashes its best 6+-performance since May's 6.6. Moreover, "Sunny" progresses from the runner-up spot to #1, displacing iHeartMedia hot AC KMYI "Star 94.1" (5.9 – 5.6, -.3, 6+), which had been on top the past five monthlies; "Star segues to #3. Seven straight up or flat trends for KFMB-AM have produced a +.6 (1.5 – 1.8 – 1.8 – 1.8 – 1.9 – 1.9 – 2.0 – 2.1, 6+) and the
Midwest Television talker climbs from #20 to #19. In 2.1 – 2.6 range (6+) for the twelfth straight monthly, Entercom-owned KBZT "94.9 San Diego's Alternative" (2.1 – 2.2, +.1, 6+) remains at #18. Following three up-trends in a row that netted nine-tenths (4.4 – 4.9 – 5.2 – 5.3, 6+),
Univision Radio Spanish adult hits KLQV "102.9 Mas Variedad" sputters by eight-tenths to 4.5, spiraling from third to seventh. In 3.0 – 3.8 range (6+) for the eleventh successive time, iHeartMedia's KGB "San Diego's Classic Rock" is off by one-tenth (3.4 – 3.3, 6+) to slip from #13 to #14. Without an increase for the eighth consecutive ratings period and a -1.4 since March (5.5 – 5.1 – 5.1 – 4.6 – 4.6 – 4.4 – 4.3 – 4.3 – 4.1, 6+), urban-rhythmic oldies XHRM "Magic 92.5 The Beat of San Diego" drifts from eighth to tenth.

Tampa – More than rebounding from October's one-half share drop,
Cox Media Group CHR WPOI logs an increase of nine-tenths (4.7 – 4.2 – 5.1, 6+) to jump from ninth to fifth. The last time "Hot 101.5 – All The Hits" reached the five-share level (6+) was August 2015 (5.0). It bypasses
iHeartMedia's similarly-formatted WFLZ "Tampa Bay's #1 Hit Music Channel" (4.5 – 4.3, -.2, 6+), which segues from eighth to ninth. The market's (6+) country share increases by eight-tenths as
Beasley Media Group's WQYK "99.5 QYK" is up one-half share (5.0 – 5.5, sixth to fourth, 6+) while iHeartMedia-owned WFUS "US-103.5 Tampa Bay's New Country Leader" adds three-tenths (seventh to fifth, 6+). It is the third straight gain for "US-103.5" (4.0 – 4.6 – 4.8 – 5.1, 6+) for a net of +1.1. In addition to WQYK, Beasley Media Group Spanish contemporary WYUU "92.5 Maxima" also improves by one-half share (3.9 – 4.4, tenth to eighth, 6+); "Maxima" had been in 3.1 – 3.9 range (6+) the past ten survey periods. Even though it is down by (just) one-tenth, (9.5 – 9.4, 6+), Cox Media Group adult contemporary WDUV "Lite Favorites" is #1 for the
49th successive ratings period. Notwithstanding that it is up for the fourth consecutive time for a +.7 (5.5 – 5.6 – 6.0 – 6.1 – 6.2, 6+), co-owned WXGL "Classic Hits 107-3 The Eagle" must settle for a move of #2 to #3. On the heels of October's -.5, Beasley Media Group classic hits-oldies WRBQ "Q-105" erodes by
-1.1 (5.6 – 5.1 – 4.0, 6+) to plummet from #5 to #12. October's -.5 ended three straight increases by "Q-105" that netted a
+1.1 (4.5 – 4.7 – 5.1 – 5.6, 6+). After notching a combined
+1.4 in September and October (2.4 – 3.3 – 3.8, 6+), iHeartMedia-owned
Tampa Bay Buccaneers flagship WDAE "Tampa Bay's Sports Radio" forfeits half that margin (3.8 – 3.1,
-.7, 6+) and slumps from #13 to #16. In advance of September's +.9, WDAE hadn't had an increase the previous four sweeps resulting in a -1.1 (3.5 – 3.5 – 2.8 – 2.6 – 2.4, 6+). Right behind it is co-owned WXTB "98 Rock," which is off by one-half share (3.4 – 2.9, #15 to #17, 6+). Unchanged at #14, hot AC cluster-mate WMTX "Mix 100.7" is without an increase for the sixth consecutive time for a combined -1.3 (4.6 – 4.3 – 3.9 – 3.9 – 3.4 – 3.3 – 3.3, 6+).

Denver – It is clear by now that KCFR (3.8 – 4.4, 6+) doesn't believe in modest movement. Fluctuations for the

iHeartMedia mainstream CHR KPTT "95.7 The Party" (#14 to #12, 6+) pulls the plug on three consecutive declines for a -1.0 (4.6 – 4.5 – 4.1 – 3.6, 6+). This is the twelfth successive sweep that sibling KBPI "Rocks the Rockies" (3.3 – 3.4, +.1, 6+) is in 3.0 – 3.8 range (6+). Flat at 6.6 (6+), cluster-mate KTCL "Modern Rock Channel 93-3" is without a decrease for the fourth straight survey period (5.3 – 6.3 – 6.6 – 6.6 – 6.6, 6+) and is #1 – also for the fourth consecutive time. Prior to August (
2016), the last time "Channel 93-3" reached the six-share level (6+) was just over one year ago (6.0, 6+, August
