Anthony Michaels Resigns From WLNK Charlotte

That's the announcement from Greater Media as they begin a search for a new PD for WLNK-FM. The word is Michaels is pursuing other opportunities. Market Manager Rick Feinblatt said, ?I want to thank Anthony for all he has done for WLNK and wish him well in the future." Before being named PD back in 2011, Michaels spent nine years on the air at WLNK. During the search, Marketing Director Matt Dubois will serve as the point person for WLNK programming-related matters. In addition, WBT AM/FM Program Director Jason Furst, who has program director experience at music stations, will handle WLNK-FM?s music.

Hobbs Joins Anthony For Talk Show Boot Camp

Talentmasters?, presenter of the Morning Show Boot Camp?, and publisher of The Morning Mouth? and Jockline Daily?, announced that Gabe Hobbs (pictured) will join Don Anthony for his 4th Annual Boot Camp. The 2012 event will be held November 16-17 at the Westin Canal Place Hotel in New Orleans. Hobbs is a 35-year radio veteran who specializes in news, talk and sports formats. From 1998 through 2008 Gabe was responsible for the programming oversight of Clear Channel's 275 news, talk and sports formatted stations.

Anthony said, "Gabe is a truly a talk guru. I know of no one who is more respected or accomplished in the talk arena than Hobbs. His track record for discovering, developing and working with some of the biggest and most successful personalities in talk, makes him the perfect partner for Talk Show Boot Camp IV. Like our morning show event, TSBC is an instructional-based forum, where talent, including both current hosts, programmers and those wanting to crossover to talk, can learn from some of the top minds in format."

Anthony Michaels Named PD in Charlotte

Congrats to Anthony Michaels who has climbed the radio ladder and made it to PD. Greater Media has given Michaels the full gig after a tryout as interim PD at WLNK-FM in Charlotte. Michaels has been with the station for the past nine years and he'll keep his night shift in addition to the PD stripes. Michaels did the appropriate boss thanking after getting the job. ?It is a pleasure to work with some of the best shows in radio on WLNK-FM, ranging from mornings with Bob and Sheri to afternoons with Matt and Ramona. Thank you to Rick Feinblatt, Buzz Knight, and Peter Smyth for this great opportunity.?
