Harrell Elevated To VP/GM In Cleveland

3-10-14

Eddie Harrell joined the Radio One Company in June 2011 as VP/GM for Columbus. He replaces Jeffrey Wilson who was named Radio One's Regional Vice President for its Mid-West stations. Radio One Radio Division President Chris Wegman said, "Eddie has proven to be a leader with great community ties, leading our Columbus cluster to solid performances in ratings and revenue. I'm confident that he will continue the same leadership taking over for Jeff Wilson who will be concentrating on his regional responsibilities full time."

AUDIO)Farber Elevated to CEO at Radio Advertising Bureau.

4-3-2012

When it became clear that after five years,  Jeff Haley had his eyes set on a new challenge, this move "was pretty much a no-brainer" according to Scott Herman, Chairman of the RAB Board and Executive VP of CBS Operations. Herman told Radio Ink yesterday that Farber is well known and loved in the industry. "She knows everybody and having her in-house already was simply a plus." Several board members confirmed and both Farber and Haley said yesterday that this was unexpected. The opportunity came about for Haley and he decided to take it. Farber was the obvious choice for the position with her experience, contacts and track record in sales and management.

Farber was recruited and hired by Jeff Haley just a few short months ago and she says, in our interview, that her jaw dropped when they got together during one of their regular meetings and he told her he was leaving to take another position. Farber was then interviewed, like any other candidate would be, for the CEO spot and the announcement was made yesterday. Herman, along with board members Bud Walters and Jeff Smulyan all confirmed to Radio Ink that this change was not something planned, in fact, Herman says a new deal for Haley was being discussed.

In our interview Farber discusses her goals for the RAB, what the organization can improve upon, what Radio needs to do better to increase revenue and what stations should know about an Erica Farber run RAB. She begins her new job on April 16th.
