FCC Now Permits Electronic Filing of Pleadings

7-7-2012

The Media Bureau has added a new feature to the Consolidated DataBase System (CDBS).  Parties may now file the following pleadings electronically: informal objections, petitions to deny, petitions for reconsideration, applications for review, replies, oppositions and supplements. The commission says, "this new feature will make electronically filed pleadings promptly available to licensees, interested parties and the general public, thereby increasing the transparency of the broadcast licensing processes."

For more information about electronic submission of pleadings, see the CDBS Informal Filings FAQ page:  http://licensing.fcc.gov/prod/cdbs/forms/prod/faq_informal.htm.

FCC Now Allows Electronic Filing Of Pleadings

Electronic Filing Of Pleadings OK'd
The FCC will now allow parties to file pleadings using the online Consolidated DataBase System (CDBS).
Informal Objections, Petitions to Deny, Petitions for Reconsideration, Applications for Review, Replies, Oppositions, and Supplements can now be filed directly online at the FCC wehsite.  The CDBS can be used only for filings pertaining to broadcast applications but not for docketed proceedings like comments.  Pleadings filed electronically will generally show up in the public access area the first business day after filing under the "View Legal Actions" link under each application listed on the Application Search Results screen.
