Compass Picks Up Three in South Carolina

Fidelity Broadcasting is selling WEZV-FM, WYEZ-FM and WGTN-FM in Myrtle Beach to Compass Radio Group for $1.6 million, according to George Reed at Media Service Group. Fidelity is run by Jerry Bresson and Compass by Bob Woodward and John Trent. Compass is already programming the stations under a Time Brokerage Agreement.

South Bend Sports Talker Changes Hands

George Kimble out of the Tuscon office of Kozacko Media Services tells Radio Ink Talking Stick Communications has closed on the sale of WRDI-FM to St. Joseph Catholic Radio Group. WRDI is a sports-talker located in South Bend, Indiana. The sale price was $925,000.

Ross Named GM of South Central in Knoxville

12 year South Central veteran, Randy Ross, has been elevated from Director of Sales to General Manager of the South Central Media radio properties WJXB, WIMZ and WVRX. South Central Media President, Craig Jacobus said, ?Randy has been a leader throughout the building and he has truly earned this promotion.  His past on-air and ad agency experience, in addition to sales management success, will serve him well in his new role.?

South Carolina Changes At Entercom

Entercom announced new additions to the weekday lineup of Magic 98.9 and ESPN Upstate. Murphy, Sam, and Jodi will now anchor mornings on Magic, replacing Greg McKinney. McKinney, who's been anchoring the College Football Today pregame show on 93.3 The Planet, and doing double duty hosting the live local In The Huddle with Greg McKinney on ESPN Upstate from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., will now devote all his time to ESPN. Murphy, Sam and Jodi have been together since 1997 and are now heard in 20 markets.

Market Manager Steve Sinicropi said, ?This week we made two moves that strengthen Magic 98.9, ESPN Upstate, and our entire cluster. We?re excited to have Murphy, Sam and Jodi join Magic 98.9. This talented trio is a perfect fit for mornings on Magic 98.9. They?re fun, modern, and their show is one the whole family can listen to. We are confident it will be a difference maker for Magic."

Double O Sells Two in South Carolina

WWNU-FM and WWNQ-FM in South Carolina will be sold by Double O to Davis Media. Davis is teaming up with Kirk Litton, whose newly formed Triple M Broadcasting will partner with Davis to form the buyer: Hometown Columbia. Litton will be the President and Owner Operator of Hometown Columbia. Litton is leaving his current post as Regional Sales Director for Radio One in Washington, DC.

Formerly, Litton was Vice President of Strategic Planning for The Longley Group Advertising in Tampa and spent 14 year years at Infinity Broadcasting/CBS Radio. Davis  Media is headed by Thomas Davis, with radio properties in Williamsburg, Virginia and Wilmington, North Carolina.

The sale is subject to FCC approval.  Kalil and Company Media Brokers brokered the deal
