Robertson's UberTalk Gaining Traction

11-21-2012

Michael Roberston says real-time Twitter feeds are now available for all major radio shows at his website UberTalk. And he says, 83 of the top 100 radio show hosts are actively using Twitter to communicate with their listeners both during and after a broadcast. Listeners can tune in to those shows atUberTalk.com and experience internet interactions with hosts including links, photos commentary and listener feedback.

UberTalk is a cloud guide to every show on radio in a TV guide layout. The show-centric focus (rather than station) makes it easy to find radio shows which are ranked by popularity. Shows are grouped into categories such as politics, public, sports, news and more and can be recorded. UberTalk with Twitter is available  from any browser. Or listen on the go with free UberTalk iOS and Android apps.

Leykis Says He's Getting Traction

10-11-2012

Tom Leykis has been broadcasting his Internet-only show for six months now and he says listener numbers are growing. During three weeks in September, according to Triton, 115,684 (unique) people sampled the show. Leykis says, ?I figure at the rate we are going, we should have over 175,000 unique people listening to our show every month. Again these will be accurate and honest numbers, not some random Arbitron sample.?

Leykis adds, ?It's great to have accreditation for what we are doing. Everyone else who does a show on the Net brags about having hundreds of thousands of listeners, but they never put their money where their mouth is.? The Tom Leykis Show debuted on April 2 after a 37-month hiatus from radio. The show is broadcast live Monday through Friday from 3:00 PM ? 7:00PM PT and can be heard on a 24/7 streamed replay. It's also available on TuneIn, Windows Media Player, iTunes, iPhone, Winamp, and Shoutcast.

The link to the actual interview is down.

Can you fix it?

Thanks.

The headline is hilarious! Since no one wants Leykis, it's sort of like "Man spits in the face of Foreclosed Home, goes Homeless". How's that for spin?

FYI:

Your text has a mistake. Says Tom had a "37 Hiatus."

Clear Channel Getting Traction on Digital

8-2-2012

Of course there is a big company push behind iHeartRadio, especially this time of the year, with the iHeartRadio festival a little more than one month away. The 2012 two-day event in Las Vegas sold out in 8 minutes. Clear Channel CFO Tom Casey says iHeartRadio now has over 10 million registered users and the company is now able to leverage the success of the iHeartRadio brand with national advertisers. This year the Vegas show is being sponsored by DISH, Macy's, The TV show The Voice , State Farm Insurance and Amazon's Kindle Fire.

And while Clear Channel is still commercial free on the music creation side of iHeartRadio, the company also says it has received 95 million downloads and upgrades of the iHeartRadio app and had just under 112 million total listening hours in June which is an increase of 113% year over year. In addition, in 2012, Clear Channel has teamed up with many radio companies adding to the number of traditional radio stations on iHeartRadio from all over the country.
