Journal Taps Clark for Tucson

Leon Clark has been named Vice President and General Manager of Journal Broadcast Group?s Tucson radio operations, which include KMXZ-FM, KQTH-FM, KTGV-FM and KFFN-AM. Clark will start next Monday. Most recently, Clark was sales manager at Tunein. He has also served as sales manager for CBS in Atlanta, Emmis in New York and CBS in San Diego. He was station manager for Radio One in Boston in 2000. Clark starts next Monday.

Chris P Gets PD Gig In Tucson

Clear Channel Tucson has named Chris P PD for 93.7 KRQ and My 92.9 KMIY. A Tucson native, Chris grew up listening to KRQ and at age 18 started his radio career as an intern in the Promotions Department at the station. He quickly moved in-studio, shadowing KRQ?s evening personality. In 2001, Chris became a weekend on-air host. In 2003, KRQ named him evening host and music director and in 2008 Chris became KRQ?s afternoon host and APD.

Changes at Clear Channel Vegas, Tucson, El Paso

The region will now be led by Glynn Alan (pictured) who becomes regional market manager and Chris Pickett who is now the regional programming manager. Chris Kelly will also be promoted to Operations Manager for Tucson.  Alan moves over from Colorado Springs, Pueblo and Fort Collins where he was also regional market manager and has been in the industry for over 25 years.

Pickett will be promoted from Operations Manager for Tucson to Regional Programming Manager for the newly clustered region.  He will oversee regional programming to create entertaining listening experiences for the region?s brands and clients.  Pickett will be based out of the Las Vegas market, where he will take on a dual role as Operations Manager and Regional Programming Manager.  Pickett has been successfully programming radio stations for the past 12 years and has held positions in various markets including Denver, Cleveland and Indianapolis. 

Kelly was previously Operations Manager for Ft. Collins will take on the role as Operations Manager for Tucson.  He will work closely with Pickett to build and improve the market?s operations.    The Ft. Collins market will begin an active search for Kelly?s replacement.
