The big change is Dave ?Softy? Mahler (pictured) who permanently takes the shift 3-6:30 p.m. PST that Mike "Gasman" Gastineau occupied for 21 years before retiring in late 2012. Mahler is a great radio success story. In 1994 Mahler was hired as an intern. Three years later he was given an opportunity to host his own show and then in 1999 he was named Midday Host.
Other programming changes at KJR include, extending the Ian and Puck show by an hour (to 3:00 p.m. PST) and adding Elise Woodward as the new host of the KJR midday show and joining co-host Jerry Brewer, weekdays from 10:00 a.m.-Noon PST. Woodward joined KJR in 2002 as a co-host with David Locke and most recently co-hosted with Mike Gastineau in the afternoons. Brewer has been a sports columnist for The Seattle Times since 2006.
