Nielsen LogoPPM Data – Round One. Information for the April 2016 ratings period has been released for New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, Dallas, Houston, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Nassau-Suffolk (Long Island), Riverside, San Jose, and Middlesex-Somerset-Union. Nielsen Audio's April 2016 survey covered March 24 – April 20. RadioInfo managing editor Mike Kinosian (Kinosian@RadioInfo.com) provides his "Takeaways" from these 12-PPM markets.
TWELVE TAKEAWAYS
1) New York – Having registered a 3.2 (6+) in three of the last four sweeps (3.2 – 3.4 – 3.2 – 3.2, 6+), WXNY busts out a +.8 to 4.0 WXNY(6+), the strongest 6+-performance for "X-96.3" since December's 4.2. The Univision Spanish tropical outlet jumps from #11 into the top ten (#9). Climbing from eighth to seventh, iHeartMedia classic rocker WAXQ "Q-104.3" enjoys its fourth straight improvement (3.1 – 3.5 – 3.6 – 4.0 – 4.2, 6+). On top for 16 ratings periods before slipping to #2 inWAXQ February, co-owned adult contemporary WLTW "Lite-FM" returned to the penthouse in March and stays there in April. Following a 12.8 in the "Holiday" sweep, "Lite-FM" has registered four straight showings in the six-share range (6.7 – 6.3 – 6.7 – 6.5, 6+); February's 6.3 was its lowest 6+-share since November 2014 (5.6). Although finishing sixth for the third consecutive time, CBS Radio's all-news WINS turns in its fourth successive gain and is a combined +1.7 in that stretch (3.1 – 4.1 – 4.2 – 4.7 – 4.8, 6+). Mainstream CHR sibling WBMP "Amp" (#14 to #15) though is without an increase for the third successive sweep (2.9 – 2.8 – 2.8 – 2.6, 6+). Despite being off by two-tenths in February, Spanish Broadcasting System's WSKQ "Mega" reached #1 (6+) for the first time in its PPM-history. Now down for the third straight ratings period – this time by a lofty -1.1 (6.6 – 6.4 – 6.2 – 5.1, 6+) – "Mega" dips from second to fifth with its weakest showing since November (4.9, 6+). Up or flat the previous three sweeps (3.5 – 3.5 – 4.0 – 4.1, 6+) iHeartMedia rhythmic CHR WKTU dropped one-tenth in March and now falters by another seven-tenths (4.1 – 4.0 – 3.3, 6+) slumping from #8 out of the top ten (#12).
2) Los Angeles – With the return of the Los Angeles Dodgers – and icon play-by-play announcer par excellence Vin Scully in his KLAC67th and final year calling games for the NL West team – KLAC "AM 570 Sports" doubles its March .5 to 1.0. The iHeartMedia all-sports facility checks in at #31, surging from #38 in March. Co-owned KYSR "Alt 98.7" is up or flat for the fifth straight time (2.3 – 2.4 – 2.6 – 2.9 – 3.2 – 3.2, 6+), yielding a cumulative +.9 and is unchanged at #10. It actually shares that spot with talk and urban contemporaryKYSR siblings KFI (-.3 from March and down from #7) and KRRL "Real." This marks the fourth successive time "Real" (#11 to #10) has not had a decrease (2.6 – 2.9 – 3.0 – 3.0 – 3.2, 6+). Notwithstanding a loss of six-tenths (5.9 – 5.3, 6+), adult contemporary cluster-mate KOST "Coast 103.5" claims #1 bragging rights for the sixth successive sweep. Dropping back from sixth to seventh, CBS Radio adult hits KCBS-FM "Jack-FM" (-.2, 6+) curtails three straight increases (2.9 – 3.4 – 3.6 – 3.7 – 3.5, 6+). Co-owned CHR KAMP "Amp" is up or flat for the fourth straight time (2.7 – 2.7 – 3.0 – 3.0 – 3.3, 6+) and jumps from a three-way tie at #11 to #9. Following four successive sweeps without a decrease (2.9 – 3.0 – 3.2 – 3.3 – 3.3, 6+), all-news sibling KNX drops two-tenths to 3.1 and exits the top 10 (#9 to #13, 6+). Slipping two-tenths to 2.6 (6+), Emmis rhythmic CHR KPWR "Power 106" (steady at #15) is in the 2.6 – 2.9 range for the ninth successive survey. Although down for the fifth consecutive sweep (3.5 – 3.3 – 3.0 – 2.9 – 2.6 – 2.5, 6+), Spanish Broadcasting System regional Mexican KLAX "97.9 La Raza" remains at #16. Locked on 1.9 (6+) in four of the last five ratings periods, Pasadena City College-owned KPCC regresses by one-half share to 1.4 and finishes at #27.
3) Chicago – Given the exemplary early-season performance by both Chicago MLB franchises, tracking these next few "Windy WSCR - CubsCity" monthlies should be very interesting. For openers – and this one could go through the roof by season's end – Cubs flagship, CBS Radio's WSCR "Score," is already up seven-tenths (2.5 – 3.2, 6+), rocketing from #18 all the way into the top ten (#9). The Cubs are baseball's hottest team and "Score" is in its first year as the team'sWGN-AM flagship, moving over from the key station of the cross-town White Sox – also off to a fast start. Its new flagship, Cumulus Media talker WLS-AM is actually off two-tenths and drops out of the top 20 (#20 to #21). Ironically, prior to April, WLS-AM had not had a decrease in the previous four reports (1.6 – 1.6 – 1.8 – 1.8 – 2.2, 6+). It is tied at #21 with ESPN's WMVP, which drops six-tenths to 2.0 (6+), after posting three straight gains (1.9 – 2.3 – 2.5 – 2.6, 6+) which yielded a +.7. Another noteworthy April performance is a one-half share increase by former longtime Cubs' flagship WGN, as the Tribune talker cruises from sixth to fourth (3.8 – 4.3, 6+). This is the strongest 6+-showing for WGN since last June (also 4.3). Improving by one-half share as well and matching the 6.1 (6+) it notched in December is iHeartMedia urban AC WVAZ "V-103," which is in the runner-up slot for the fourth consecutive ratings period. It trails CBS Radio all-news operation WBBM-AM (6.6 – 6.5, -.1, 6+), #1 for the fourth straight sweep, by four-tenths. Frozen on 2.6 (6+) six times in the last eight survey periods (2.6 – 2.5 – 2.6 – 2.6 – 2.3 – 2.6 – 2.6 – 2.6, 6+), CBS Radio triple A WXRT "93 'XRT" is up four-tenths to 3.0, shaking out of a three-way tie-up at #15 to #13. Owing to a -.2 to 2.4 (6+), Hubbard Broadcasting adult contemporary WSHE has its successive string of up or flat trends snapped at three (2.0 – 2.0 – 2.3 – 2.6, 6+) and tumbles from that logjam at #15 to #18. The market's two hot ACs each drop one-tenth: Hubbard Broadcasting's WTMX "The Mix" is 4.9 – 4.8, steady at #3, 6+ and iHeartMedia-owned WLIT "My-FM" slides from fourth to fifth (6+); it is the fourth straight decline for "My-FM" (13.9 – 4.7 – 4.5 – 4.0 – 3.9, 6+) that has resulted in a loss of an even 10 shares.
4) San Francisco – On the heels of a strong +.6 in March, Cumulus Media's KNBR "The Sports Leader" nearly doubles it KNBRwith a whopping +1.1 (4.3 – 4.9 – 6.0, 6+) and moves up from #3 to unseat KCBS-AM (6.0 – 5.5, -.5, 6+) at #1. It is the best 6+performance for "The Sports Leader" since last June's 6.2. Dislodged from San Francisco's top spot in the "Holiday" 2015 report after six successive sweeps there, KCBS-AM posted consecutive gains of +.4 in January and February but droppedKBLX two-tenths in March; the CBS Radio all-news outlet was #1 the past three monthlies. Without a decrease for the fourth straight sweep (2.5 – 2.6 – 2.6 – 3.0 – 3.0, 6+), Entercom urban AC KBLX "102.9 The Bay's R&B" is steady at #12. Co-owned rhythmic hot AC KRBQ "Q-102.1 The Throwback Station" improves for the third straight time (2.4 – 2.8 – 2.9 – 3.1, 6+) to jump from #13 to #11. Over the course of four consecutive down or flat reports (10.4 – 5.6 – 5.4 – 4.6 – 4.6, 6+), adult contemporary sibling KOIT-FM "Better Variety for a Better Workday" has dropped a combined 5.8 shares or roughly 56%, but it remains at #4. It has a new competitor as iHeartMedia transitioned urban-rhythmic oldies KISQ to soft AC as "The Breeze" one week before the April sweep concluded. The final two songs under the old format were "Kiss and Say Goodbye" (Manhattans) and "End of the Road" (Boyz ll Men), segueing to "The Breeze" with "Easy" (Commodores); KISQ finishes at #16 in April with a 2.2 (6+). Meanwhile, Alpha Media San Jose AC outlet KBAY (#26 in San Francisco, 6+) is without a gain for the fourth straight time (2.6 – 1.7 – 1.4 – 1.4 – 1.2, 6+). While this is the fifth consecutive ratings period that Cumulus Media classic rocker KSAN "107.7 The Bone" is either down or flat (2.9 – 2.7 – 2.7 – 2.7 – 2.5 – 2.3, 6+), it is only off by six-tenths in that stretch. Co-owned triple A KFOG declines for the fourth successive time (2.2 – 2.1 – 2.0 – 1.9 – 1.8, #18 to #19, 6+), while talk cluster-mate KSFO is down or flat for the third consecutive sweep (2.9 – 2.4 – 2.4 – 2.0, #16 to #18, 6+).
5) Dallas – Up or flat December through February (5.7 – 6.0 – 6.0 – 6.3, 6+), iHeartMedia CHR KHKS "Kiss-FM" lost three-tenths KHKSin March but bounces back in April with a +.7 (to 6.7, 6+) and is #1 for the third straight time. Stymied at 3.0 (6+) in three of the past four sweeps (3.0 – 3.0 – 3.2 – 3.0, 6+), rock cluster-mate KEGL "97.1 The Eagle" hangs out a one-half share gain (3.5, 6+) and enters the top ten (#12 to #9). Inching up from ninth to eighth, Cumulus Media's KSCS "New CountryKEGL 96.3″ racks up its fourth successive progressive trend that has produced a +.9 (2.6 – 2.7 – 3.1 – 3.2 – 3.5, 6+). Owing to a three-tenths gain (4.4 – 4.7, 6+), co-owned, similarly programmed KPLX "The Wolf" escapes a three-way tie at #4 and climbs to #3. Following three straight dips resulting in an exactly 50% loss of its 6+-share (10.6 – 6.6 – 6.1 – 5.3, 6+), CBS Radio classic hits-oldies outlet KLUV picks up two-tenths to 5.5 (6+) and is in the runner-up slot for the third successive sweep. Adult hits sibling KJKK adds two-tenths (3.3, 6+), thus applying the breaks to four straight down or flat trends (3.9 – 3.5 – 3.5 – 3.4 – 3.1, 6+), but "Jack-FM" stays at #11. Still in that CBS Radio cluster, regional Mexican KMVK "La Grande 107.5" (#16 to #15) extends its consecutive positive string to four (1.9 – 2.0 – 2.6 – 2.7 – 2.8, 6+), while news-talk KRLD-AM (unchanged at #20) drops one-tenth (to 2.2, 6+), thus halting its progressive streak at three straight (1.6 – 1.8 – 2.2 – 2.3, 6+).
6) Houston – Down (modestly) in back-to-back sweeps (5.3 – 5.2 – 4.9, 6+), noncommercial KSBJ "Contemporary Christian Music – KSBJGod Listens" posts a gain of seven-tenths to 5.6, its strongest 6+-perforamnce since February 2015 (5.8). In March,  iHeartMedia adult contemporary KODA relinquished the six-tenths it gained in February, but "Sunny 99.1" bounces back with a one-half share increase (7.2 – 7.8 – 7.2 – 7.7, 6+) and ranks first for the 20th consecutive ratings period. Up one tenth (6.6 – 6.7, 6+), Radio One urban AC KMJQKODA "Majic 102.1" is in the runner-up slot for the tenth straight time. Simultaneous with Cox Media Group's KKBQ "93-Q" picking up one half share (5.3 – 5.8, 6+), CBS Radio-owned/similarly formatted KILT-FM "100.3 The Bull" sputters by nine-tenths to 3.5 (6+) and drops out of the top ten (#7 to #12). Steady at #4, "93-Q" scored a robust +.9 in March, after four straight sweeps without an increase (5.6 – 5.6 – 4.7 – 4.7 – 4.4, 6+), while "The Bull" had been up the previous three ratings periods (3.7 – 3.8 – 4.3 – 4.4, 6+). In addition to "Sunny," and "93-Q," Univision regional Mexican KLTN (4.9 – 5.4, 6+) and iHeartMedia alternative KTBZ "The Buzz" (3.7 – 4.2, 6+) are also up by one-half share. The difference is that KLTN actually slides from fifth to sixth whereas "The Buzz" zooms from #12 into the top ten (#7). Following a hefty +.9, Cox Media Group classic rock KGLK "The Eagle" returns approximately half of it (5.7 – 6.6 – 6.1, -.5, 6+) to segue from a tie at #2 to #3.
7) Philadelphia – More than making up for consecutive slips of one-tenth (4.6 – 4.5 – 4.4, 6+), WXTU "Philadelphia's Country WXTUStation" roars back with a +.6 to 5.0, its most potent 6+-share since October (5.8). Without a decrease for the fourth successive ratings period (4.3 – 5.5 – 5.5 – 5.6 – 5.6, 6+), Greater Media rocker WMMR is unchanged at #3. Consistent January through March (7.8 – 7.9 – 7.7, 6+), Jerry Lee Radio adult contemporary WBEB "More FM"WMMR regresses by seven-tenths to 7.0 (6+), but is the market pacesetter for the tenth successive monthly. Nonetheless, it is the weakest 6+-performance for "More FM" since September (6.8). Also dropping by seven-tenths is Temple University classical outlet WRTI (#18 to #19), which is without an increase for the third successive sweep (2.8 – 2.5 – 2.5 – 1.8, 6+). A trio of positive trends by WMGK that yielded a combined +1.2 (4.8 – 5.5 – 6.0, 6+) was curtailed in March with a -.4. Now, the Greater Media classic rocker stumbles by another six-tenths to 5.0, skidding from a tie at #3 to a three-way logjam at #6. Moving from eighth back to tenth, iHeartMedia urban contemporary WUSL "Power 99" forfeits the one-half share it gained in March, thus ending its string of up-trends at three (3.5 – 3.9 – 4.0 – 4.5 – 4.0, 6+). After five straight sweeps at #12, public WHYY (3.4 – 3.0, -.4) drops to #13.
8) Atlanta – Stuck on 3.1 (6+) in January and February, Salem Media Group contemporary Christian WFSH "The Fish" added WFSHthree-tenths in March and now explodes with a +.9 (3.1 – 3.4 – 4.3, 6+) to catapult from #14 into the top ten (#9). A seven-tenths improvement (4.2 – 4.9, 6+) enables Radio One gospel facility WPZE "Praise 102.5" to jump from eighth to fifth; the 4.9 (6+) matches what "Praise" registeredWPZE in November. A one-half share drop in March curtailed iHeartMedia-owned WRDA's string of up or flat trends at three (2.3 – 2.5 – 2.5 2.8 – 2.3, 6+). "Radio 105.7 – Atlanta's Alternative," however, regains all of that -.5 and one-tenth more (2.9, +.6, 6+) and remains at #16. This time last month, Cox Media Group urban AC WALR "Kiss 104.1" erupted with a +1.7 to boast the largest (6+) February – March increase of any station in the 12 markets whose data was released. Going from one extreme to the other, "Kiss" relinquishes roughly 70% of that monster gain (7.1 – 8.8 – 7.6, -1.2, 6+) for the dubious distinction of the most significant (6+) March – April decrease of any station in the 12 markets whose information was shared Monday. Even so, "Kiss" remains in the runner-up slot. The separation between "Kiss" and talk sibling WSB-AM was just two-tenths in March and although WSB-AM is down three-tenths (9.0 – 8.7, 6+), it expands its advantage over "Kiss" to 1.1 (6+); WSB-AM holds the top spot for the fourth straight month. The -1.2 by "Kiss" shuts the door on four successive sweeps in which it was either up or flat (6.7 – 6.7 – 6.8 – 7.1 – 8.8, 6+). Furthermore, its 8.8 in March eclipsed last September's 8.1 as its best-ever 6+share showing under PPM methodology. Meanwhile, February's 9.1 by WSB-AM was its highest since PPM became Atlanta's ratings currency. Capturing #1 honors in January, WSB-AM was the market's runner-up the previous four sweeps. Unchanged at #10, iHeartMedia's WUBL "94.9 The Bull" is without a decrease for the fourth consecutive time (3.6 – 3.7 – 3.7 – 4.0 – 4.0, 6+). Conversely, Cox Media Group's WSRV "Classic Hits 97.1 The River" (fifth to sixth) drops two-tenths to 4.5 (6+) bringing to a close five successive sweeps of up or flat trends for a cumulative +1.3 (3.4 – 3.4 – 3.6 – 3.9 – 4.4 – 4.7, 6+). Eroding by one-half share each are Radio One urban contemporary WHTA "Hot 107.9" (fourth to eighth, 6+) and Cumulus Media's WKHX "Kicks 101.5" (4.1 – 3.6, #9 to #13, 6+). This is the fifth successive ratings period that "Hot" has not had an increase including three straight 4.9-performances (5.6 – 5.2 – 4.9 – 4.9 – 4.9 – 4.4, 6+); country "Kicks 101.5" was +.7 in March.
9) Long Island – The market's (6+) adult contemporary share balloons by +1.5, as Connoisseur Media-owned WKJY "Long WKJYIsland's K-98.3″ improves by one full-share (sixth to third, 6+), while iHeartMedia New York's WLTW "Lite-FM" picks up one-half share (ninth to seventh, 6+). Not only is this is the third straight increase for "K-98.3" resulting in a pickup of two full-shares (3.2 – 3.6 – 4.2 – 5.2, 6+), it is the first time the station has reached the five-shareWLTW Logo January 2015 level (6+) since November 2009 (5.0). Meanwhile, "Lite-FM" is ping-ponging 3.5 – 4.0 – 3.5 – 4.0 (6+). A gain of six-tenths (2.9 – 3.5, 6+) propels co-owned talker/New York Mets flagship WOR into the top ten (#15 to #9). Albeit flat at 5.8 (6+), co-owned CHR WHTZ "Z-100" is #1 for the third successive sweep. Its lead though over Connoisseur Media hot AC WALK-FM (5.7 – 5.6, -.1, 6+) is just two-tenths; WALK was -.9 in February and -3.7 in January (10.1 – 6.4 – 5.5, 6+). After three straight stays at #1, WALK-FM dropped to second in February. It had gained one full-share in December and was +3.9 in "Holiday" 2015. Faltering by seven-tenths each are CBS Radio all-news WINS (3.0, #8 to #11, 6+) and Emmis urban AC WBLS (2.8, #9 to #15, 6+). WINS had been up the previous three monthlies (2.9 – 3.5 – 3.6 – 3.7, 6+), while WBLS had been up or flat the past three sweeps including a whopping +1.1 in March (2.2 – 2.2 – 2.4 – 3.5, 6+). In 2.0 – 2.9 territory (6+) for the 34th straight ratings period, CBS Radio CHR WBMP "Amp Radio" is flat at 2.2, but actually moves from #21 back into the top 20 (#20).
10) Riverside – Alternating 2.5 – 2.4 – 2.5 – 2.4 (December 2015 – February 2016, 6+), Liberman regional Mexican KRQB notched KRQBa +.6 in March and adds one-half share in April (3.0 – 3.5, 6+) as "Que Buena 96.1" continues at #7. It is the best 6+-showing for "Que Buena 96.1" since last October (3.6). Despite having its successive streak of up or flat sweeps halted at three (6.0 – 6.0 – 6.4 – 6.9 – 6.8, -.1, 6+), Entravision Spanish adult hits KLYY "Jose" is #1 for theKLYY fifth consecutive ratings period. Sputtering by -1.1 (4.9 – 3.8, 6+), Univision Spanish contemporary KLVE "K-Love" tumbles from fourth to sixth. The last time "K-Love" was found below the four-share level (6+) in the Inland Empire was August 2014 (3.2). Declining by six-tenths each are CBS Radio country KFRG "K-Frog" (unchanged at #5, 6+) and All-Pro Broadcasting hot AC KHTI "Hot 103.9" (2.3 – 1.7, #8 to #11, 6+). In three straight monthlies without an increase, "K-Frog" is off by seven-tenths (4.9 – 4.8 – 4.8 – 4.2, 6+), whereas "Hot" had been up or flat the past six sweeps for a +1.4 (.9 – .9 – .9 – 1.0 – 2.0 – 2.2 – 2.3, 6+).
11) San Jose – On the heels of a +.6 in March, Cumulus Media's KNBR nearly replicates its stunning April performance in KLIVthe San Francisco report (see above) by improving one full-share (5.9 – 6.5 – 7.5, 6+) as "The Sports Leader" advances from second to first. The last time KNBR crossed the seven-share threshold (6+) in San Jose was November 2014 (7.1). KNBR's -.6 in February curtailed three straight gains (5.1 – 5.4 – 5.6 – 6.5, 6+). Leaving the #1 slot after a two-month stay is Univision SpanishKRBQ adult hits KBRG "Mas Variedad 100.3" (6.6 – 6.2, 6+), which trades places with KNBR by segueing to second. Gaining six-tenths each are Empire Broadcasting-owned KLIV "1590 Silicon Valley News" (1.8 – 2.4, #20 to #14, 6+) and Entercom urban AC KBLX "102.9 The Bay's R&B." Over and above entering the top 20 at #16 (up from #23 in March), KBLX is either up or flat for the fifth time in a row and has more than tripled its 6+-share since December (.6 – .6 – .7 – .7 – 1.5 – 2.2, 6+). Off a combined four-tenths "Holiday" – January – February (1.9 – 1.7 – 1.5, 6+), rhythmic hot AC sibling KRBQ "Q-102 The Throwback Station" rebounded with a +.9 in March and tacks on another one-half share (2.4 – 2.9, 6+) to inch up from #13 to #12. Also improving by one-half share is adult contemporary cluster-mate KOIT-FM "Better Variety for a Better Workday" (2.8 – 3.3, 6+), which returns to the top ten (#11 to #10), after three successive down or flat trends (5.8 – 2.9 – 2.9 – 2.8, 6+). That's San Jose's good news for the format; conversely, Alpha Media AC KBAY falters for the fourth consecutive ratings period for a net loss of -5.1 (8.9 – 5.8 – 5.1 – 4.7 – 3.8, 6+), spiraling from fourth to seventh. Prior to falling to third-place in January, KBAY had been anchored at #1 the previous 14 sweeps. Meanwhile, in its last sweep as an urban-rhythmic oldies outlet, iHeartMedia's KISQ "Kiss 98.1" (soft AC "The Breeze" as of April 13) returns the six-tenths it gained in March (1.7 – 2.3 – 1.7, 6+) to freefall from #14 to #21. Following three progressive or flat trends (3.6 – 3.6 – 4.1 – 4.6, 6+), Empire Broadcasting's KRTY "San Jose Hot Country 95.3" erodes by eight-tenths to 3.8 (6+), down sliding from sixth to seventh. With two 2.3 shares (January and February, 6+) sandwiched between two 2.2 shares ("Holiday" and March, 6+), Cumulus Media's KGO decreases by one-half share to 1.7, plummeting from a three-way logjam at #15 to a traditional tie at #21. In 1.0 – 1.8 territory for the 13th straight sweep, triple A cluster-mate KFOG "The Bay Area's Original" adds two-tenths (1.3 – 1.5, 6+) to climb from #26 to #24.
12) Middlesex – Frozen on 3.6 (6+) in January and February, Cumulus Media country outlet WNSH "Nash-FM" dropped WNSH-FMthree-tenths in March but busts out with a +.8 to 4.1, its best 6+-showing since June's 4.2. Moreover, "Nash-FM" zooms from #11 into the top ten at #8. As a result of a +.6 (2.6 – 3.2, 6+) Emmis rhythmic CHR WQHT "Hot 93" jumps from #16 to #13. In February, WKXW "New Jersey 101.5" crossed the nine-share threshold (6+) for the first time in its PPM-historyWQHT only to fall two-tenths in March. The Townsquare Media talker drops another four-tenths (9.1 – 8.9 – 8.5, 6+), but remains at #1 for the fourth straight time. Greater Media adult contemporary WMGQ "Magic 98.3 – Today's Hits & Yesterday's Favorites" falters by seven-tenths (6.0 – 5.3, 6+) and slides from third to fifth. Following a trio of successive increases that delivered a combined +1.9 (4.2 – 4.5 – 5.7 – 6.1), iHeartMedia classic rocker WAXQ "Q-104.3" is off by one-half share to 5.6 (6+) but remains in second-place. After six straight ratings periods of up or flat trends for a cumulative +1.3 (4.3 – 4.4 – 4.6 – 4.7 – 5.1 – 5.1 – 5.6, 6+), Emmis urban AC WBLS drops one-tenth to 5.5 (6+); it continues at #4. Another such streak comes to an end as Spanish Broadcasting System Spanish tropical WSKQ "Mega 97.9" – which had been up or flat the past five monthlies in Middlesex-Somerset-Union (2.9 – 3.4 – 3.5 – 4.2 – 4.3 – 4.3, 6+) – slips by three-tenths to 4.0 (6+), falling from eighth to ninth.
