San Diego's KSSX Becomes "Jam'n KSSX95.7." Formerly known as rhythmic hot AC "95.7 Kiss FM," iHeartMedia San Diego's KSSX transitioned to rhythmic CHR late Friday (5/27) and now utilizes "Jam'n 95.7 – Today's Hip Hop and R&B" as its handle. Senior vice president of programming for iHeartMedia Riverside Rob Scorpio is programming the station, which is airing non-stop, commercial-free music through the (Memorial Day) weekend. According to iHeartMedia San Diego-Riverside regional senior vice president of programming John Peake, "We are fortunate to have Rob's level of expertise leading 'Jam'n 95.7.' He has incredible passion for the format. We are excited about not only the music changes he has implemented, but also the amazing talent lineup he has assembled." Scorpio previously worked at KKBT "The Beat," Los Angeles; KBXX "The Box," Houston; and WPGC-FM, Washington, D.C. His on-air roster in San Diego features Pablo & Tati (morning drive); Mercedes "Cedes" Howard (mid-day); Frankie V (afternoon drive); and Beto Perez (night). Representative "Jam'n 95.7" artists include Beyonce, Chris Brown, J Cole, Drake, Fetty Wap, G-Eazy, Jeremih, Kid Ink, Kendrick Lamar, Rihanna, The Weeknd, Kanye West, and Yo Gotti. In the 2.1 – 2.7 range (6+) the past seven Nielsen Audio PPM survey periods, KSSX ranks #17 in April (2.4, 6+); Entercom adult contemporary KXSN "Sunny 98.1" is on top with a 6.6 (6+).
