Blackburn Resigns From CBS L.A.

Valerie Blackburn has been market controller for six radio stations owned and operated by CBS Radio, and GM at KFWB, owned by the KFWB Asset Trust, in Los Angeles. Blackburn said she?s not going to another company or position, just taking a break to travel and reconnect with family and friends. She expects to be around another month. Blackburn joined CBS in 2006 and has successfully guided the cluster through a variety of challenges and changing economic conditions. For the past three years, Blackburn has been named one of the Most Influential Women in Radio by Radio Ink.

Blackburn Named KFWB General Manager

Last night, the KFWB Asset Trust announced Valerie Blackburn will run the news-talker. Backburn said, "This is an incredible opportunity as KFWB continues to show growth.? With the great talent of our news teams, Dave Ramsey, Les Brown and Bob McCormick, and assets like Clippers basketball and our lifestyle programming, I?m confident we will continue to build upon the momentum shown in the latest ratings released today.?

Blackburn will continue to serve as the market controller for six radio stations owned and operated by CBS Radio in Los Angeles. She currently chairs the national board of directors for the Alliance for Women, has served on the board of several organizations and is involved in numerous community causes.
In both 2010 and 2011, Blackburn was named one of the most influential women in radio by Radio Ink Magazine. Blackburn has been in the industry for 25 years, 15 years at news-talk stations.
