Austin personalities JB Hager and Sandy McIlree return to radio Monday as the morning team on new Adult Album Alternative Station "The Fringe." Austin?s Real Radio The Fringe (105.3) was created by locally owned and operated Genuine Austin Radio. Musically, the station will feature hits from alternative music charts and will be a blend of alternative current and classic hits with local artists and the occasional off-beat song playing a big role in the format. Until last year, JB and Sandy were heard on Mix 94.7 in Austin.

Tim And Willy Return With Help From Skyview

Tim (Hattrick) and Willy (Loon) have signed a deal with Skyview Networks to distribute their morning show one year after being fired from KMLE-FM in Phoenix. The Tim and Willy Show will soft-launch September 2 by Web stream at timandwilly.com. The official debut goes live on six radio affiliates and Web stream on September 16. Skyview will provide the studio, radio satellite distribution, and production of the show?s live Web stream.

Hattrick said, ?We?ve worked with some excellent people in our career. None better than Skyview! They told us: Dream the dream. We did, and together we?ve created the Tim and Willy Show we?ve always wanted."

The six Phoenix-area stations that will carry the show include KRDE 94.1 FM, KDAP 96.5 FM, KJJJ 102.3 FM, KZUZ 95.5 FM, KINO 1230 AM, and KZUA 92.1 FM. For more information visit timandwilly.com. Wade & Roma Will Not Return To WLS

After recently telling his audience he needed brain surgery, Don Wade announced he'd be taking a break from the morning show he's been doing with his wife Roma for 27 years. On Wednesday, the show officially ended on WLS in Chicago when the duo jointly announced they would focus on Don's recovery and would not be returning.

"Even with successful surgery, recovery is long. Attitude is key. Your encouraging, loving cards, letters, and emails helped us maintain what Don's doctors describe as 'the most positive optimistic attitude in the universe'! Thank you for every single prayer and good wish. The daily stress of rising each day at midnight to prep for our 5 a.m. show does not help the healing process. So we are choosing a different path and focusing on what's really important for us right now."

Cumulus Co-Chief Operating Officer John Dickey said, "Don and Roma are Chicago and 27 years waking Chicago up is an amazing feat. The focus and strength it takes to do live radio every day on one of the world's biggest stages will serve Don well as he continues to heal. We wish Don and Roma the best and will always keep a mic open for them."

(AUDIO) Lex & Terry Return To Jacksonville

Renda broadcasting adds The Lex & Terry show to WYKT-FM (Classic Rock) starting Monday. Lex Staley said ?What an honor it is to be back on in Freakville at Classic Rock 94.1 WSOS. I know there are a lot of people ready for it and so are we. We can't wait.? Terry Jaymes added, "We're back, just like a bad cold. And I'm really excited to be back. WSOS is letting us do it the Lex and Terry way.?  

We spoke to Lex and Terry about their return to Jacksonville and why it took so long for them to get back on in the market they once dominated. Here's that interview.

Lex and Terry started in Jacksonville in 1992 and became one of the most successful morning shows in that region. It was their success in Jacksonville that led to the duo?s decision in 1997 to take the program into national syndication. Lex & Terry were last heard on the FM band in Jacksonville on WPLA-FM, The Planet, where they were ranked #1 among Adults 25-54 when the station changed format and call letters in August of 2010.

Additionally, Lex & Terry had their show added in both the Chicago, IL and Yakima, WA markets by joining the lineups at WYKT-FM (?The Cat 105.5?) in Kankakee, IL and KLKY (?U Rock Radio 96.1?) near Yakima. Lex & Terry are syndicated by United Stations.

Savage Planning Radio Return Soon

Michael Savage is hinting he will return to radio within the next two weeks and has told a San Francisco newspaper he has to return before the presidential debates are over.On his website savage wrote, "while I cannot divulge my decision at this time, I can say I hope to be back within two weeks and with the most powerful announcement in modern history." He added that many would like to partner with him and he's been very busy with meetings about his radio future.

Clear Channel Officially Anounces Festival Will Return

Clear Channel says 2-day iHeartRadio music festival will return to the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on September 21 and 22, 2012. The acts for the event have not yet been announced and Clear Channel says it will roll out details on all 850 of its radio stations.

Is Bill St. James Making A Return?

The former long-time host of one of radio's longest running syndicated programs, Flashback, has sent a letter out to friends and former affiliates. It says, "We're coming back with a whole new show, but same bad attitude. You'll only have to wait until March. Thanks for all the love." More details coming very soon." Cumulus Media replaced St. James with Matt Pinnfield. St. James had been hosting Flashback for 25 years.

Ramsey Brothers Return to Louisville Mornings

WVEZ-FM is owned by Cox and Operations Manager Shane Collins says "the new full-service, AM-drive program will be a fun, positive, upbeat show that caters to hip, family-oriented women." The brothers were first on the radio together on WRKA in the 1980s and started their careers together as touring stand-up comedians.

They last worked worked together in radio in 1997. Jeff Ramsey has been the host of Lite 106.9?s morning programming since 2008 and says that bringing his brother back into the studio with him is ?a dream come true.?

J.P. Pritchard and Lana Hughes Return to Houston Radio

Late Friday night Radio One made the announcement that KROI-FM in Houston would flip to an all news format, dumping the gospel music format now on the station. J.P. Pritchard and Lana Hughes, who were fired by KTRH in Houston in July, will anchor the morning news on the station when it flips to all news in two weeks.

Shane Media Services President Ed Shane has been brought in by Radio One to help make the switch and says "Houstonians will find much to like about News 92 FM. We?re going to give people the facts without the biased opinions that dominate so-called news stations. We?ve assembled an A-list of broadcast journalists who mission is to report the news and let people make up their own minds.? 

Shane says that the programming team, led by veteran news director Denise Bishop, will deliver an appealing blend of local, regional and national news along with topical information and the traffic and weather updates that are essential to Houston listeners. Pritchard and Hughes were on the air in Houston for 27 years before being let go in the summer. At the time, KTRH GM Eddie Martiny told a Houston Newspaper, "Traditional news coverage is no longer as compelling as it used to be. Ten years ago, radio stations were prime sources of where people went to get news. Today, they get it from Blackberries and smartphones. He says the new format will resemble Fox News' Fox and Friends and will reflect current appetites for commentary along with news." Apparently, Radio One does not buy into that statement.

Baisden Show Helps Return Missing Girl

It's only been a month since syndicated talk show host Michael Baisden started working with The Black and Missing Foundation. Since then, Baisden's program has been directly responsible for finding three missing children. The most recent success story involves young Jhada Clarke, who had been taken out of state by her father and missing for more than a month. After co-workers of Mr. Clarke heard the case involving Jhada during The Michael Baisden Show, they convinced him to turn the missing girl over to local authorities. Jhada was soon reunited with her mother, Rose Walker.

Walker said ?I am forever grateful to The Black and Missing Foundation and The Michael Baisden Show for getting my daughter's information out there. If it wasn't for their efforts, I would not have my baby right now.  The work that they are doing is not in vain.? Baisden said, ?What a tremendous example of how we can right a wrong by simply getting involved. I applaud these individuals who heard Ms. Walker?s plea on our show last week and made the decision to not simply sit on the sidelines. Knowing that she now has her daughter back safely in her arms is truly heart-warming.?

As part of its commitment, to The Black and Missing Foundation, Baisden?s nationally syndicated radio program highlights a child who is currently missing every day during the show. Listeners learn how they can help provide information to local law enforcement agencies. Details about missing children are also profiled on the show?s websites and social media outlets.
