Roberts Adds WDZH-FM OM Stripes

The number one Country Program Director in America (according to Radio Ink Magazine) just added more responsibility to his plate. CBS Detroit Market Manager Debbie Kenyon says Tim Roberts is adding Operations Manager of WDZH-FM (98.7 AMP Radio) to his title. Roberts is currently OM and PD of WOMC and WYCD for CBS in Detroit.
Roberts joined WYCD in 2004 and immediately took the station to #1 in the Detroit Market. In early 2009, 104.3 WOMC was added to his programming duties. He will continue to be day-to-day Program Director of WYCD and WOMC and will work closely with Tim Rainey, Program Director, AMP Radio. Kenyon said, ?Tim is an outstanding programmer and a leader with great vision. His years of experience, success, and knowledge will continue to help move AMP Radio to the top CHR position in the marketplace.?

CMG Ohio Promotes Nick Roberts

Cox Media Group Ohio has named Nick Roberts to the position of vice president of marketing for the company. Roberts will oversee the strategic marketing activities of CMG Ohio?s integrated brands, drive product development and accelerate media platform convergence. CMG Ohio consists of the Dayton Daily News, Hamilton JournalNews, Springfield News-Sun, and The Middletown Journal daily newspapers, the weekly Oxford Press, and Today?s Pulse weekly newspapers, ActiveDayton.com, Skywrighter, DaytonB2B and SpringfieldB2B, WHIO-TV, WHIO AM-FM, K99.1FM and 95.3 The Eagle.

Since joining the company in 1997, Roberts has held a number of positions of increasing responsibility.  In his most recent position, Roberts served as both regional director of programming for CMG?s Ohio and Louisville radio stations and the Radio News-Talk-Sports Format Leader for Cox Media Group nationwide. Roberts replaces Donna Hall, who was recently promoted to Group Vice President at Cox Media in Atlanta.

Houston Radio Legend Claude Roberts Dies

He was know to Houston listeners for three decades as Rick Roberts, starting his radio career in New Orleans at WBOK-AM. A native Houstonian, Roberts moved back to his home city where he started a long career in that city in 1967 at KYOK-AM as PD. He also worked at KTSU-FM before retiring in 1993. Roberts was 72.

Roberts Joins Envision Radio Networks

Rick Roberts joins Envision as an additional host of America Weekend. He'll work America Weekend every Saturday from noon to 3 p.m. ET. Roberts has worked at KOA/Denver, KCMO/Kansas City, KRLD/Dallas, KOGO/San Diego, and KFMB/San Diego. Roberts joins fellow America Weekend hosts Paul Harris (Saturdays and Sundays 9 a.m. to noon) and Turi Ryder (Sundays noon to 3 p.m.).

Roberts Named Best Country PD

As the Country Radio Seminar Kicks off today in Nashville, Radio Ink is honoring the programmers who make the country format one of the most popular with consumers. CBS Radio's Tim Roberts (pictured) of WYCD & WOMC in Detroit has been named the Best Country Program Director in America by Radio Ink Magazine. This is the second year in a row Roberts has won the top spot. Greater Media's Mike Brophey took the second spot and Mike Moore of Entercom's KWJJ-FM in Portland finished third.
