Yesterday, NBC Sports and Dial Global launched phase one of what will become a 24-hour sports talk network in 2013. Hourly updates and long-form programs could be sampled at www.nbcsportsradio.com. Executive Vice President and General Manager for Dial Global Programming Chris Corcoran (pictured) says Monday was a big day, the shows sounded excellent and he was very pleased with the initial launch. Here's more from Corcoran.
"Jon Stashower kicked off NBC Sports Radio at 6am ET in Tuesday by doing what he does best, being one of the most talented national sports anchors in the business. This momentum carried throughout the day and into our night programming where you couldn't have had a better guest lineup which included Bob Costas, Rodney Harrison, Tony Dungy, Chris Johnson, Mike Florio, Peter King and Michelle Tafoya call into our night shows, The Erik Kuselias Show at 7p ET and Amani and Eytan at 10p ET. Both of these shows sounded excellent and we're thrilled to have them on the NBC Sports Radio lineup. With these shows, phenomenal guests, hourly 24/7 updates and Dan Schwartzman in the overnights, along with the Safety Blitz with Rodney Harrison over the weekends, it's going to be a very refreshing and entertaining sound for the sports radio listener. We're looking forward to watching these shows and our network grow and give our affiliates and advertisers great content every single day."
