David DuBose had worked for Cox in Birmingham since 1998. Once the sale of the Cox stations to SummitMedia officially closed, DuBose filed a lawsuit against his former company, claiming Cox reneged on an agreement to pay him over $300,000.
In the lawsuit, which you can read HERE, DuBose claims Cox refused to pay him $310,687 for staying on through the sale and meeting "reasonable performance goals." He also claims Cox refused to pay him for work he did to upgrade several of Cox's signals. The lawsuit says, "At one conference in Orlando, Bob Neil informed the audince that upgrading Cox's signal portfolio increased the value of Cox's radio stations by over $200 million."
