Chaz & AJ Hold Benefit For Injured Police Officer

Chaz & AJ, who host mornings on Connoisseur's Rock WPLR/New Haven and Classic Rock WFOX, are holding a benefit for Brett Morgan, a New Britain police officer who was run over and dragged by a stolen car last month. The "Stand Up for Brett" comedy benefit is set for Friday, February 21 at Trinity on Main in New Britain.

Morgan was seriously injured in the January 19 incident and, after several surgeries, has been released from the hospital to continue his therapy and rehabilitation.

The comedians set to perform Friday include Dave Reilly (seen on MTV and Fox), and Gary Petinella, with Joey Mitchell hosting. Fairfield Police Chief Gary MacNamara will also make an appearance. Tickets are $15 and are available online at http://www.wplr.com/ and http://www.959thefox.com/ until 5 p.m. Thursday, and after that can be purchased at the door. All proceeds will go to the Brett Morgan Benefit Fund to help Morgan and his family with medical expenses.

Dial Global Broadcasting Benefit Concert

In cooperation with NBC-TV, Dial Global will provide a radio simulcast of tonight's ?Healing in the Heartland: Relief Benefit Concert? airing live from the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City (9pm ET). The concert and telethon, which sold out in :30 seconds, was organized by Country star and Oklahoma native Blake Shelton, who will headline the event. Miranda Lambert, Vince Gill, Reba McEntire, Luke Bryan, Rascal Flatts, Darius Rucker, Usher, and Ryan Tedder from One Republic are also performing.

Dial Global is offering the simulcast to all of its Country radio affiliates and to every country radio station in the US, in addition to radio stations of all formats in Tornado Alley. ?Healing in the Heartland: Relief Benefit Concert? is set to raise money to aid victims of the deadly tornado that ripped through Moore, Oklahoma on Monday, May 20.  The tornado killed at least 24 people, injured hundreds, and damaged houses, hospitals, and schools in both Moore and Oklahoma City.  Funds will go to the United Way of Central Oklahoma May Tornadoes Relief Fund.

Coldplay to Perform iHeartRadio Benefit Concert

Clear Channel says Coldplay will perform live at a special iHeartRadio Benefit Concert Wednesday, Feb. 8th at Club Nokia at L.A. LIVE. Proceeds will benefit A Place Called Home and Youth Mentoring Connection, two Los Angeles based youth charities. Senior VP of Programming John Ivey (pictured) says ?It?s a special scenario for the Los Angeles radio stations and iHeartRadio to have an opportunity to collaborate with Coldplay to support the work of two great local organizations that directly impact the LA community.
