MLB Returns To ESPN Deportes Radio

The radio network will broadcast 2014 regular-season games every Sunday night, starting with March 30?s Sunday Night Baseball game between the Dodgers and Padres at 7:30 p.m. Coverage also includes the broadcast of The Home Run Derby and All-Star Game in July, as well as the League Championship Series and the World Series in October. ESPN Deportes New York 1050 will serve as the flagship radio station for the New York Mets.

Soccer Returns To ESPN Deportes

ESPN Deportes Radio has reached a sub-license agreement with Fox to broadcast the UEFA Champions League. Coverage includes all stages, semifinals, and the final. ESPN Deportes GM Oscar Ramos said, ?We are very proud of this accomplishment, which not only strengthens our play-by-play offering but also makes a big difference in our continued mission of serving the U.S. Hispanic sports fan. We are very confident that this coveted soccer tournament will provide an experience that heavily resonates with our fans and with our advertisers.?

ESPN Deportes NY And MSG Team Up

ESPN Deportes Nueva York 1050AM and MSG have reached an agreement for the Spanish-language station to carry select Knicks home games for the remainder of the 2012-13 season. ESPN New York Vice President and General Manager Dave Roberts said, ?At ESPN we are committed to serving the U.S. Hispanic sports fan. The Knicks have a growing Hispanic fan base so this extension of our partnership with MSG was a natural step for us to serve that audience.?

ESPN Deportes Dallas Adds Victor Villalba

Villalba will join Luis Fernando Perez as co-host of the Charla Deportiva show that airs weekdays from 11 a.m. to 12 noon on ESPN Deportes (1540-AM). Villalba has been the Dallas Cowboys Spanish play-by play announcer since 2002 and the Dallas Mavericks Spanish play-by-play announcer since 2005. He was also a part of the 2010-2011 Dallas Mavericks World Championship broadcast team. He'll continue in both of those roles.

(AUDIO) Big Day For ESPN Deportes in New York.

On the heels of ESPN Radio moving over to the FM dial in New York City, today is the day ESPN Deportes Radio Nueva York (1050-AM) debuts in the number one market. The 24-hour Spanish language sports network will be heavily cross-promoted today by ESPN starting with Mike & Mike in the morning with the official launch taking place at 2PM. The network will put a heavy emphasis on soccer but include all sports, according to ESPN Deportes Radio GM Oscar Ramos. Listen to our interview about the launch with Ramos HERE.

With more than 300 hours of live sports events scheduled yearly, programming for ESPN Deportes Radio Nueva York will also feature other top sporting events, including the LIVE broadcast of Dominican baseball -exclusive to New York-, CONMEBOL South American World Cup Qualifiers, CONCACAF World Cup qualifiers, Mexican First Division soccer, U.S. National Team friendlies, MLB and MLS. Starting Monday, September 10, ESPN Deportes 1050AM will introduce two new local sports shows to better serve the Hispanic sports fan of New York with relevant content.

Jacobo Zabludovsky Joins ESPN Deportes

Zabludovsky is a historian in Mexican journalism. He'll join the team covering the news and information surrounding the London 2012 Olympic Games. ESPN Deportes' will be providing extensive coverage of the Olympic Games from London. Zabludovsky said, "Being able to say that I am a part of this ESPN project is very exciting.
