On the heels of ESPN Radio moving over to the FM dial in New York City, today is the day ESPN Deportes Radio Nueva York (1050-AM) debuts in the number one market. The 24-hour Spanish language sports network will be heavily cross-promoted today by ESPN starting with Mike & Mike in the morning with the official launch taking place at 2PM. The network will put a heavy emphasis on soccer but include all sports, according to ESPN Deportes Radio GM Oscar Ramos. Listen to our interview about the launch with Ramos HERE.
With more than 300 hours of live sports events scheduled yearly, programming for ESPN Deportes Radio Nueva York will also feature other top sporting events, including the LIVE broadcast of Dominican baseball -exclusive to New York-, CONMEBOL South American World Cup Qualifiers, CONCACAF World Cup qualifiers, Mexican First Division soccer, U.S. National Team friendlies, MLB and MLS. Starting Monday, September 10, ESPN Deportes 1050AM will introduce two new local sports shows to better serve the Hispanic sports fan of New York with relevant content.
