Market Manager Steve Swenson says CBS Radio will re-launch WNEW-AM 1580 with programming focused on government and business. The new format will feature a wide variety of programming from local sources and news organizations like ?The Hill,? plus financial news from Bloomberg Business and The Wall Street Journal.
Robert Sanchez will serve as the program director for WNEW-AM as well as retain his duties as the program director of ALL NEWS 99.1 WNEW-FM. ?Politics may be what everyone talks about in Washington, D.C., but the federal government is the primary industry employing more than a quarter of the local population,? said Sanchez. ?We feel strongly about providing programming that serves this important audience with updated information about our government and how it intersects with business. There?s no better place for this station to be than in the backyard of the nation?s capital.?
