CBS Dallas Sports Talker In Trouble

10-15-13

It appears longtime Dallas Sports Talker Chris Arnold (pictured) is in a bit of trouble after admitting on Twitter he stole large chunks of an article written by Scott Kacsmar which he posted on the "105.3 The Fan" website. Arnold was not on the air Monday and as far as we could tell he was not on today. CBS did not respond to e-mails for comment. Kacsmar's article was originally published at coldhardfootballfacts.com. Kacsmar sent Radio Ink the side-by-side comparison in a follow-up article he wrote called "How to Blatantly Plagiarize a NFL Article." He says he doesn't plan to pursue any legal action against Arnold at this time. If Arnold worked for you, what would you do?

Arnold is part of a three-person show called the G-Bag Nation that airs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Dallas. CBS Radio in Dallas has not commented on the situation other than a report in the Dallas Morning News that the station is investigating. There was an exchange on Twitter between Arnold and Kacsmar that as of late last night was still up on Arnold's Twitter page. Arnold apologizes after being called out by Kacsmar. Here's that exchange...

Hey @MrChrisArnold, how about crediting my work instead of copy/paste and passing it off as your own? Thanks. http://dfw.cbslocal.com/2013/10/09/damned-tony-romo/ ?

Randy Galloway Retiring From ESPN Dallas

8-8-13

He says its been in the works for a year and has nothing to do with yesterday's announcement that Cumulus will be LMA'ing the station. 28-year broadcasting veteran Randy Galloway, the host Galloway & Company on KESN/103.3 FM ESPN Radio will retire at the end of 2013. Galloway tells The Star-Telegram this is not a surprise. ?I told the ESPN over a year ago I was retiring at the end of this current contract, which is Dec. 31. I want to give them plenty of notice to get a replacement in place. So there?s now basically five months to go on the contract. And nothing has changed about my plans to retire.?

Galloway tells the paper that ESPN?s national headquarters in Bristol, Conn., has been in touch with him about national radio and TV gigs after he retires, and he?s considering his options, but would still only work on a part-time basis.
