Arbitron Says Radio Spots Are Being Heard

Arbitron released its March RADAR Network Ratings and says nearly 180 million people 12 and over heard at least one network commercial per week during the survey period. That's 68 percent of the 12 plus population. Arbitron says in the 25-54 demo, 71.7 percent were reached and in the 18-49 demo 70.9 percent of the population heard at least one commercial. 46 networks are part of Arbitron's RADAR survey and nearly 396,000 people were sampled from January to December in 2012.

Amber Alert Heard on Radio Helps Find Child

A one-year-old Kansas City child is safe thanks to an Amber Alert heard on the radio. Kansas City resident Eric Dooley told KMBC.com he heard the Amber Alert on Entercom's KMBZ and happened to be in the right place at the right time. Police say Mazurennae Clark's son was taken, along with her car, by a friend when she went inside a house for a few minutes. Clark said, "I never thought Amber Alerts worked, but it did for my kids."

The One Person Who Hasn't Heard of Pandora

A former college student and ex-disc jockey is accused of threatening to ?shoot up? a Massachusetts campus radio station because it wouldn?t play a song he requested. Perhaps Alex Finnegan has never heard of Pandora or iHeartRadio where you can create your own radio stations and hear all of your favorites. There were reports that Finegan sais he was joking, however, that's not something police take lightly. Finnegan's dumb move got him arraigned Thursday on two threat charges.

Police say Finnegan graduated from Bridgewater State University and used to be a DJ at its radio station, WBIM. The station received multiple calls Monday from someone who requested a song by the punk band Rufio. The station did not have the song and police say the caller said he would ?come in with a gun and shoot up the place.? Just as an aside, when you type Rufio into Pandora or iHeartRadio, the album "Perhaps, I Suppose" comes up. It's very angry music, which, probably fits in with what took place here.
