Tom Joyner Morning is launching the first leg of his 2015 Meet Every Listener tour on MLK day in Houston. Joyner is planning on live broadcasts from different affiliates every month, meeting and greeting listeners and sponsors. First on Joyner's schedule is Majic 102.1/Houston, then on to KTCX-FM /Beaumont, KVMA-FM/Shreveport, and KOKY-FM/Little Rock.

It's the fifteenth year for the Tom Joyner Foundation Fantastic Voyage which supports students attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities. The cruise will leave Miami tomorrow for eight days and seven nights. Almost three thousand passengers will be on board the Carnival Conquest. This year the entertainment will include Tyler Perry, Katt Williams, Robin Thicke, Charlie Wilson, KEM, John Legend, Nelly, Ice Cube, Chante Moore, Shaggy, George Clinton, and many great artists from the 70?s, 80?s and 90?s.
As the title sponsor of the cruise, Ford will have two 2014 Ford vehicles on the ship, the Fusion and Focus ST and is giving a vehicle away to one Tom Joyner Morning Show Listener as part of the 2014 Win Any Ford Giveaway. Ford also is bringing along PlayDate ? an entertainment-based company that offers an alternative to traditional games. Other major sponsors include Crest Pro Health, Carnival, Denny?s, The Home Depot?s Retool Your School Program and Walmart.

The Tom Joyner Foundation announced the ?Full Ride? scholarship program that will cover all the expenses of one student planning to attend a Historically Black College and University in the fall of 2014. Joyner said, ?The cost of a college education isn?t getting any cheaper. So, I want to help a graduating high school senior with a chance to attend a black college to pursue their dreams.?
Students will receive full tuition and stipends for up to 10 semesters to cover on-campus room and board and books. Students must meet the required academic standards each semester to renew the funds each year. Graduating high school seniors can apply for the scholarship by going to the Tom Joyner Foundation website at http://www.tomjoynerfoundation.org/ to download an application.
To be eligible, students must meet the following criteria:
1) A United States Citizen
2) Current high school seniors attending school in the United States (applicant must be anticipating completion of high school degree in the spring of 2014).
3) Minimum high school grade point average of 3.50 (on a 4.00 grade scale, excluding home school studies) and Minimum SAT score of 2100 (combined math essay and verbal score) or ACT score of 30.
4) Applicants must apply and be accepted to an HBCU by July 1, 2014.
5) Applicants must have demonstrated leadership abilities through participation in community service, extracurricular, or other activities.

Tuesday morning, syndicated radio host Tom Joyner offered Rachel Jeantel a full ride to college. Jeantell was on the phone with Trayvon Martin the night he was killed. She took the witness stand during the trial and was interviewed on CNN this week. Joyner was moved to help. "Rachel, here's my offer to you. If you want to graduate from high school and go to an HBCU (historically black colleges and universities) -- even if it's not in Florida but especially Florida -- if you want to do that, I want to help you do that."

I think that Tom Joyner is writing the check. I think that with this woman's new found fame, she may not safely be embraced at a majority white university. I think that you don't know anything about HBCUs or black people. I also think that your comment was so inflammatory that you didn't have the guts to use your real name.

Only Historically Black Universities? Why is that? Is there a problem with schools that were not specifically black? Is this racist? I wonder if there were such a term white people would use...I believe there would be quite an outrage. Just wondering. What do you think?

Allstate, the Tom Joyner Foundation, and alumni, students, and supporters of historically black colleges and universities across the country raised more than $141,000 in scholarship funds as part of the 2012 Allstate Quotes for Education program. In this picture, Sybil Wilkes from the Tom Joyner Morning Show, Interim President of Lincoln University Dr. Connie Hamacher, and Karen Gilkey from Allstate along with the first scholarship recipients.
For every person who received an insurance quote from an Allstate agent and mentioned Quotes for Education between August 1 and December 31, 2012, Allstate donated $10. The funds have been donated to Joyner's Foundation, earmarked for scholarships for students attending HBCUs. This is the second year Allstate has partnered with the Tom Joyner Foundation for the Quotes for Education program. For the past nine years, Allstate has title-sponsored the Allstate Tom Joyner Family Reunion. Both programs are part of Allstate?s year-round commitment to create, support, and sponsor programs that empower the African-American community.

You can never get enough Tom Joyner. He's been successful for so long, continues to work so hard every day and remains one of the most successful syndicated personalities on radio. Add on top of that his business accomplishments and philanthropy and he's the perfect speaker for the upcoming Radio show in Dallas. ESSENCE & Southern Company, in partnership with Perennial Strategy Group, hosted their 3rd annual Evening of Excellence honoring Tom Joyner, Donna Richardson Joyner and Dr. Regina Benjamin at a special invitation only awards reception as part of the 2011 Congressional Black Caucus Foundation's 41st Annual Legislative Conference.
The event honors leaders and advocates of change. This year's honorees included: Tom Joyner, host of The Tom Joyner Morning Show; Donna Richardson-Joyner, top fitness guru; and Dr. Regina Benjamin, U.S. Surgeon General. Hosted by CNN news anchor Fredricka Whitfield, this invitation-only event took place on Friday, September 23rd, in Washington, D.C., at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center.

The Tom Joyner Morning Show will acknowledge the 10th Anniversary of 9/11 with a tribute show honoring the thousands of people who lost their lives and those whose lives were forever changed due to the tragic events on that fateful day. In the weeks' following the nation's pain Tom Joyner urged his audience to send much needed funds to support those families who lost loved ones in the World Trade center and Pentagon tragedy. The Tom Joyner Morning Show contributed close to $1 million dollars to the families of janitorial workers, caregivers and those families who lost their breadwinners.
Among those profiled the broadcast include:
- Dawn Glazer - 9/11 Survivor Dawn Glazer, pulled from ash and debris, who still receives physical therapy and suffers from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) received assistance from the BlackAmericaWeb.com Relief Fund to help with her rent and other financial needs.
- Brenda Kegler -9/11 Pentagon Attack victim Brenda Kegler with 30 years of government service , was a loving Mother/ Grandmother of 2 grown daughters & a grandson; the BlackAmericaWeb.com Relief Fund came to the aid of her daughter Belinda Bennett with financial assistance.
- Irene Smith, Mother of Fallen Fire-Fighter, Son, & Hero- Leon Smith, Jr. of Ladder 118. The BlackAmericaWeb.com Relief Fund assisted twin daughters Tiffany and Yolanda Smith in helping them stay in college after the loss of their father. She has since then started a Scholarship Program for students who might not otherwise be able to afford college. So far they have raised $50,000 and helped 12 students get a higher education.
- Stephanie Irby - 9/11 victim Stephanie Irby, an Accountant for a Financial Services Firm on the 98th floor in Tower One, was planning on using her own savings to open a college fund account for her 2 year old niece, Cecilia. The BlackAmericaWeb.com Relief Fund helped her sister Pam and baby niece Cecilia Melton who both shared an apartment with their sister/aunt Stephanie.

The 2011 Allstate Tom Joyner Family Reunion was held this past weekend at the Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention. Over 14,000 attendees had exclusive access to select theme parks, concerts, seminars and other festivities. Performers included the Oscar and Grammy Award winning Jennifer Hudson, Brian McKnight, Keith Sweat, Keith 'Babyface' Edmonds, and a teen-only "Swagged Out" concert with Soulja Boy, Mindless Behavior, Trevante, Hamilton Park, Da Pretty Boyz and Dai and Nyte. Diggy Simmons, son of music mogul Russell and
Kimora Simmons, performed to room full of screaming fans during the Friday Night Teen Club Party.
The Celebrity Golf Tournament, hosted by Tom Joyner and R&B great Eddie LeVert, featured such top names as Dr. Catana Starks, the first female head coach of an NCAA Division One men's golf team at Tennessee State University, a historically black college, Jim Thorpe, the PGA Tour and Champions Tour veteran and Roland S. Martin, TJMS Analyst & CNN Contributor. Allstate Insurance Company did its part for helping to keep students in college with its "Quotes for Education" program. Allstate is donating $10 to the Tom Joyner Foundation for anyone who gets an insurance quote.

Neil Golden has been with McDonalds for over two decades. He oversees all aspects of national marketing for McDonald's USA, including collaboration and alignment with McDonald's Operator National Advertising Fund for nearly 14,000 McDonald's restaurants in the U.S. He was named senior vice president and chief marketing officer of McDonald's USA, in April of 2008. Golden's McDonald's career began in 1989 as a regional marketing supervisor in McDonald's Indianapolis region. Since then, he has held a variety of field and home office positions, including his most recent as McDonald's USA vice president of marketing, where he was responsible for new initiatives, emerging consumer trends, strategic planning, plan development and ethnic marketing.
According to the RAB and NAB Golden and Syndicated talk show host Tom Joyner will share their views on the shift towards mosaic marketing. They will also discuss the power of radio. Titled "The McDonald's Story, the session will be held 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 15th at the Hyatt Regency Chicago.

The two-part interview is scheduled to air at 8:50 a.m. EST and at 9:06 a.m. EST. A press release from Joyner's Reach Media says "during the interview, President Obama will outline a plan to create jobs rebuilding roads, bridges and schools. Obama also plans to discuss his strategy on getting his policies passed despite the Republican opposition, and his battle for re-election over the next 17 months." Although many would argue there really hasn't been opposition to the President's plan being that for the most part he did have a democratically controlled Congress. Not to mention much of the President's agenda has gotten through, yet the economy is still sputtering.
The interview will be re-broadcast Monday, Sept. 5th.

Politics divide people. News informs people...how about keeping political comments out of the news you bring us? The comment "Although many would argue there really hasn't been opposition to the President's plan being that for the most part he did have a democratically controlled Congress." reeks of political commentary. How about remaining factual, because remember, not everyone sees things the same way.
