Meyer: "We Could Not Monetize Piolin."

2-5-15

The popular Hispanic morning star, who's since returned successfully to radio, spent less than a year with SiriusXM. When asked about the company's programming for the Hispanic audience, CEO James Meyer said, "We thought Piolin would be something we could monetize. It didn't work. He's a great talent for free radio but people weren't willing to pay for it." Piolin says his experience at SiriusXM was great but he had too many offers to come back to radio, which he loves, and decided that's where he wanted to be. Since his return to radio this year, Piolin is already heard on over 40 stations.
