All Numbers Are Up at SiriusXM

4-28-15

First quarter revenue for the Satellite company was up 8% to $1.08 Billion. The company also added 431 thousand new subscribers, a 61% increase from the 267 thousand added in the first quarter of 2014. Free cash flow of $276 million was up 24%, while free cash flow per share of $0.49 was up 36%. SiriusXM now has 27.7 million paying subscribers. The company has increased its 2015 revenue and subsciber guidance, now projecting it will generate $4.47 Billion in revenue and add 1.4 million new subscribers rather than 1.2 million.

SiriusXM Chief Financial Officer & Executive Vice President David Frear said, "For the second quarter in a row, we have been pleasantly surprised by the strength of our subscriber performance. Once again, the quarter was a little better than we expected on all fronts resulting in a lot better than we expected in total. All acquisition channels, new car, used car, win back and aftermarket are performing well; and with improved churn, it was the best first quarter for self-pay net adds that we have had in seven years. You have to go back to the first quarter of 2008 to find a bigger quarter ? first quarter for us."

SiriusXM Revenue Rises 11%. Plans Price Increase

10/24/13

SiriusXM reported third-quarter record results of $962 million, up 11 percent from Q3 of 2012. The company also announced it will be raising its price by six dollars per year for basic packages starting in January. This is the second price increase since a government ban was lifted following the merger of Sirius and XM in 2008. CEO Jim Meyer said, ?While changing prices is a hard decision, especially in the competitive audio entertainment market, we are assured that our subscribers see substantial value in our service and that this modest change will not considerably impact retention next year.? In 2011 SiriusXM increased the cost of its basic package by 1.50 dollars.

Meyer said the company "had a great quarter," adding more than half a million subscribers. We also saw double-digit growth in revenue for the seventh consecutive quarter, a new quarterly record for adjusted EBITDA and adjusted EBITDA margin, and significant growth in free cash flow."

Adjusted EBITDA for Q3 was up 21 percent, to $296 million, with adjusted EBITDA margin at nearly 31 percent. Free cash flow was $245 million, up 26 percent from $195 million in Q3 of 2012.

SiriusXM To Acquire Connected Vehicle Unit Of Agero

8-15-13

Sirius XM Radio is buying the connected vehicle services business of Agero for $530 million in cash. The connected vehicle unit of Agero provides telematics services, offering safety, security, and convenience services for drivers and end-to-end, turnkey solutions for automakers. Following the acquisition, SiriusXM will provide connected vehicle services to more automotive manufacturers -- including Acura, BMW, Honda, Hyundai, Infiniti, Lexus, Nissan, and Toyota -- than any other telematics provider.

SiriusXM CEO Jim Meyer said, "The acquisition of Agero's connected vehicle business is a natural fit for SiriusXM. As the world's leading provider of in-vehicle subscription services, SiriusXM is uniquely positioned to offer world-class, end-to-end telematics services. The transaction accelerates SiriusXM's development in architecture supporting connected vehicle services, as well as the ability to provide services over both satellite and cellular networks. Agero's connected vehicle team is known for their experience, innovation, and technology, and we look forward to welcoming them to SiriusXM as we work to capture the significant growth opportunities in connected vehicle services."

The transaction is subject to the expiration or early termination of the Hart-Scott-Rodino antitrust waiting period and other customary closing conditions. The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2013.

Morgan Stanley acted as financial advisor to SiriusXM in connection with this transaction.
