NYT: Citadel Shareholders Say Board Protecting 'Ineffective' Suleman

In a story headed "Static on the Citadel Radio Dial," the New York Times' Gretchen Morgenson on Saturday said Citadel shareholders feel "victimized" by the company board's refusal to consider a buyout offer from Cumulus Media. Those shareholders, Morgenson writes, are concerned that the refusal is intended to let the "ineffective" Citadel CEO, Farid Suleman, keep his job.

Broadcasters File Petitions To Deny NNB-Townsquare Deal

Cherry Creek Radio and Sunnylands Broadcasting have filed petitions to deny the sale of a dozen New Northwest Broadcasters stations to Townsquare Media. The deal would give Townsquare a combined 23 stations in Yakima and Tri-Cities, WA, well over FCC limits, and Cherry Creek says Townsquare's plan to put 11 stations in trust on the way to being sold would be a "sea change in [the] historical use of trusts."
