FCC Adopts New Procedures For FM Allotments

As it rescinds the reallocation of an FM frequency, the FCC takes the opportunity to adjust its procedures for handling vacant FM allotments. The agency will no longer accept individual requests to reallocate an allotment, downgrade, or delete a vacant FM allotment, and all such proposals must be made within the auction process.

Census Bureau Looks At Radio Revenue

In a report headed "Estimated Revenue for Employer Firms," the U.S. Census Bureau takes a look at revenues for a number of industries under the "information services," banner including radio. Radio takes generated $18.9 billion in 2007, the bureau reports, declining to $18.3 billion in 2008 -- and to $16 billion in 2009.
