Turns out Qualcomm CEO Paul Jacobs (pictured) once tried to sell Apple on his idea of putting a radio in one of Apple's Newton products. Jacobs told Charlie Rose the idea was rejected because the technology was expensive at the time and would have added to much girth too an already large device. Emmis CEO Jeff Smulyan has been working tirelessly to get cellular manufacturers to put an FM radio chip in cell phones. The technology has evolved allowing for a lot less space being required than in the Newton days.
