Bobby Bones Raises $60K For St Jude's

This past Tuesday, Bobby Bones and his band The Raging Idiots played a special charity concert to benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Jason Aldean crashed the show held at Marathon Music Works in Nashville, helping raise more than $60,000 for the hospital. In addition, country music singer/songwriter/guitarist Lindsay Ell performed with The Raging Idiots, and St. Jude patient Caleb served as guest announcer for the evening. During a recent interview with Bones, Aldean agreed to play a charity show with the band if they could raise $50,000 for Susan G. Komen. The program used any and all means to reach their goal ? from putting Lunchbox in a room with a snake, to offering shirtless pictures of the guys to generate donations from listeners.

More National Press for Bobby Bones

The Washington Post has a profile piece on the Bobby Bones show after Clear Channel recently added the program to WMZQ in DC. Post writer Emily Yahr writes how the unconventional Bones and his cast of friends is connecting with Country listeners - and artists - because of how real the program is. "If it sounds like they?re just a group of friends hanging out, that?s exactly what they are, and Clear Channel executives pinpoint that as the reason for the show?s widespread popularity." Bones will host the upcoming iHeartRadio Country Music Festival on March 29 and was recently on the cover of Radio Ink Magazine.

Bobby Caldwell Launches Ag Network

According to Wisconsin Ag Connection, Caldwell's East Arkansas Broadcasters has formed the EAB Ag Network and it will go live in January. Anchored by Jonesboro-based KFIN, the network will broadcast on stations located throughout eastern and central Arkansas, with signal coverage in western Mississippi, western Tennessee and southeast Missouri. EAB recently filed an application with the FCC to purchase radio stations in the Arkansas River Valley, which will bring its total number of owned and operated stations to 25.

"Bobby Bones Show" Raises $135K For Tornado Relief

Premiere Networks' "The Bobby Bones Show" presented the American Red Cross with a check for $135,060.71 to support the tornado relief effort in Oklahoma. The check was presented to Joel Sullivan, regional CEO for the Tennessee Volunteer Region of the Red Cross, during a reception at Bones' Nashville radio studio today.

The show reached out to friends on Music Row for help and more than 60 of Country music's biggest stars donated personal items, concert tickets, signed memorabilia, and more to be auctioned on eBay. From May 24-30, thousands of listeners and fans bid on the items to support the disaster relief effort. In addition, Broken Bow/Stoney Creek Records, Black River Entertainment, and Big Machine Label Group donated $5,000 each.

Bones said, ?We were blown away by the support from the Country music community ? from the artists and record labels to the fans. Their generosity speaks volumes and we can?t thank them enough for stepping up and contributing to this worthy cause.?

?Thanks to the generosity of our community partners like 'The Bobby Bones Show,' we were able to provide the funding for trained Red Cross caseworkers and other disaster volunteers to help and comfort Oklahomans with food, relief supplies, health services, and emotional support,? said Sullivan.

Bobby Bones Gets Creative for Oklahoma Tornado Victims

Bobby Bones leaned on his Nashville friends to come up with a great idea to help the victims of last weeks devastating tornado. Country music?s biggest stars stopped by his show or called in to offer support so Bones took advantage of that and launched an online auction of the donated items on eBay. WJHM-FM Orlando Adds Bobby Smith as PD

Smith was already PD for WOMX-FM and now adds similar duties at WJHM-FM. It's a multi-year contract for Smith, according to a Clear Channel Orlando press release. Smith was previously an on-air personality, assistant program director/music director at KHFI in Austin, and also held similar positions at stations in Philadelphia.

Alayna Messer is upped to executive producer at Premiere Radio Networks' Bobby Bones Show, where she began as an intern in 2005. Messer was most recently network producer of the nationally syndicated morning show.
