Emmis Again Postpones Shareholder Vote

Emmis Again Postpones Shareholder Vote

It's not over yet: Emmis on Friday postponed a special shareholder meeting without a vote. The next attempt is set for tomorrow. Emmis and Chairman/CEO Jeff Smulyan are continuing to negotiate with both the group of preferred shareholders that has been holding up Smulyan's bid to take the company private, and with Alden Global Capital, which last week backed away from its part in financing the transaction. The company said, "Although we believe that an agreement among the various parties remains unlikely, we believe the extension is warranted due to the continuing discussions."
