The former Emmis Market Manager will take over the Jacksonville Clear Channel cluster on April 1. Nyren decided not to stay with Merlin Media when Emmis sold Q101 and WLUP. He was with Emmis in Chicago and Phoenix for 11 years. After a short stint in the Emmis digital division, Nyren took a job with Clear Channel at Total Traffic.
Clear Channel has six stations in Jacksonville, 5 FMs and 1 AM. About his new position, Nyren said, "I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with the talented staff and exceptional brands Clear Channel operates in Jacksonville. I look forward to continuing the success built over years in the market and can't wait to hit the ground running as the newest member of the Jacksonville team."
