Hipcricket has announced it will work with BBB Mobile Giving Foundation to extend its capabilities for non-profit organizations and philanthropic efforts. This mobile fundraising management solution includes an SMS donation capability. For example, by securing and promoting Text-2-Donate keywords on one of Hipcricket?s charitable short codes, users can send a text message and authorize the addition of a $5 or $10 donation to their mobile phone bill.

Hipcricket Passes 175,000 Campaign Mark

Hipcricket, a one-stop mobile marketing and advertising company, says it has passed the 175,000 campaign mark. The company says is has completed more than 25,000 campaigns so far in 2012 and is enjoying double-digit percentage growth in the number of campaigns processed each month since February 2005 and is outpacing its 2011 record performance, when its technology platform managed more than 61,000 campaigns.

Hipcricket Innovates With QR Ad For BP

Hipcricket says it has powered the mobile elements of a holistic and interactive BP America print advertisement which ran in Bloomberg Businessweek magazine. This first-of-its kind advertisement gave readers an augmented reality experience featuring U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Hopefuls.

Unveiled in the December print issue of Bloomberg Businessweek, BP America?s series of interactive trading cards featured nine athletes through an augmented reality platform. When held up to a webcam or camera phone, these printed cards come to life as the athletes digitally appear in front of the user with exclusive training tips, and information about themselves and their sports. When readers scan the Hipcricket-powered QR code featured in the ad, they are redirected to the appropriate app store to download a mobile app with additional content. Hipcricket was also responsible for running the analytics around the BP America mobile advertisements on Businessweek.com.

The Augme HipCricket Sale Has Closed

The purchase price of Ivan Braiker's company was $44.5 million which comprised of $3 million in cash, a $1 million promissory note, $2 million to be paid to holders of Hipcricket options, which amount Augme may pay, at its discretion, in either cash or Augme?s common stock and $38.5 million in Augme?s common stock.  In addition, the transaction calls for a twelve-month earn-out payment to Hipcricket shareholders and employees valued at up to an additional $27.5 million, which may be paid in cash or Augme?s common stock at Augme?s discretion provided that the transaction remains a tax-free reorganization. Augme expects to retain all of Hipcricket?s employees, and the current Hipcricket team will continue to service Hipcricket?s customers.

Earlier this summer, Hipcricket reached hosted its 130,000th  campaign, and the company managed over 30,000 campaigns in 2011 using a broad range of mobile communications platforms, including SMS, MMS, CRM, mobile-social programs, mobile coupons, QR codes, branded applications, mobile web, and other platforms for such clients as Macy?s, MillerCoors, Nestle, KFC, and Clear Channel. Hipcricket?s pace of activity has steadily advanced since the company powered its first campaign in 2004.

Paul Arena remains Chief Executive Officer of Augme, while Hipcricket?s founder and Chief Executive Officer, Ivan Braiker, has been appointed President and joins Augme?s Board of Directors.  Jim Crawford has resigned as a director of the Company, however, he remains Augme?s Chief Information Officer.  Eric Harber, President and Chief Operating Officer of Hipcricket, joins Augme?s management team as Chief Operating Officer.  Phillip Rapp, previously Chief Operating Officer of Augme, has become Executive Vice President of Strategic Planning.  Following Augme?s acquisition of JAGTAG last month, the former CEO of that company, Ed Jordan, was named Chief Financial Officer of Augme.

Mobile marketing and advertising company Hipcricket has reached an amazing milestone. It has surpassed 130,000 campaigns, including more than 30,000 in 2011 using elements ranging from SMS to MMS to CRM to mobile-social programs, mobile coupons, QR codes, branded applications, mobile web, and more. Hipcricket has powered mobile campaigns for a broad range of clients including brands, agencies, media companies and enterprises. Clients include MillerCoors, Nestle, Macy?s, Simon Malls and the American Cancer Society among hundreds of others. The pace of activity has advanced dramatically since Hipcricket powered its first campaign in 2004. Ivan Braiker's HipCricket Sold For $44.5 Million

Well known former radio executive Ivan Braiker has sold his Internet company Hipcricket to Augme. The $44.5 Million deal is $6 million in cash and $38.5 million in Augme common stock. The deal also includes a 12-month earn-out payment which could be an additional $27.5 million. Augme will bring Braiker in as the president and board member and Hipcricket COO Eric Harber will also move over with the same title. In fact all Hipcricket employees are expected to make the move to Augme. The name of the company will be Hipcricket and Augme company although that may change in the future.

Braiker told Radio Ink this deal puts the new company "in the lead position in mobile marketing in the United States." He added "the two companies compliment each other, there isn't a lot of overlap." Hipcricket executed its 100,000th campaign this spring, with the pace of activity accelerating dramatically since the company was founded in 2004. Hipcricket has enjoyed double-digit percentage growth in the number of campaigns processed each month, with 10 percent monthly growth on average during the first half of 2011. Clients include Macy?s, MillerCoors, Nestle, KFC, and Clear Channel. The company has also created the first comprehensive permission-based mobile ad network that taps into the buying power of the mass market with industry-leading capabilities to target customers via location and highly-specific demographic information across SMS, display, rich media and video.

Augme CEO Paul Arena said ?The agreement to acquire the assets of Hipcricket follows our previously announced acquisition of JAGTAG, which was completed on July 22, 2011. We expect the complementary resources of Augme, JAGTAG and Hipcricket, when combined, will allow Augme to provide the most powerful best-of-breed mobile marketing solutions to global brand name leaders, backed by strong intellectual property portfolios, including patented technology and software-as-a-service, ?SaaS? technology platforms.? The deal is expected to close at the end of August.

Ramar Communications Sticks With Ivan Braiker's Hipcricket.

Hipcricket and Ramar Communications have extended their contract together. Ramar, the parent company of five television and four radio stations in Lubbock, Texas, uses Hipcricket?s HIP 7.0 platform to deliver sponsored news alerts, weather forecasts and other information and offers. Ramar also uses Hipcricket to integrate mobile into its CRM initiatives, engage audiences and deliver opportunities for additional advertising revenue through hyper-local mobile offers.
