LISTEN TO OUR SHORT INTERVIEW WITH RON CUTLER
At 18 years of age, Cutler pursued his first business venture hosting teenage dances in Philadelphia for nine years. His love of music and connection with his dance audience led him to radio in 1965. As ?Ron Diamond,? he was one of the first disc jockeys to play contemporary music and oldies on FM radio. In 1970, he moved west and purchased and ran radio station KOME in San Jose. Then, in 1975, Cutler created one of the first discos in Los Angeles ? Bahama Mama?s. A year later, he created one of the largest nightclubs west of the Mississippi called Dillons.
Cutler's advice is based on his experience as a top-rated Philly disc jockey, ?Ron Diamond?; as the original owner and creator of the legendary KOME, the San Jose FM radio station that he sold to Michael Wiener and Gerald Carrus, who formed Infinity Broadcasting making KOME Infinity?s first station. Cutler reveals how he turned a $15,000 investment into a $10 million payoff.
