Cumulus has picked up another FM in New York City as it tries to bulk up its cluster to better compete in the Big Apple. Cumulus only has two signals in the #1 market, WPLJ-FM and WABC-AM. The purchase of WFME from Family Stations will certainly mean a formt change for that signal (94.7). The format now is Gospel. No price was given when the deal was announced.
Cumulus CEO Lew Dickey said, ?This strategic acquisition of our second FM in the nation?s largest market will enable us to provide compelling new programming for our listeners and a powerful marketing vehicle for our advertising partners."
