Apple's Radio Service Delayed

3-8-13

CNET reports Apple is still negotiating with Sony over licensing rights which has delayed the radio service which was planned for release last month. It's expected the fees will be worked out in time for a summer launch of the service. CNET reports the new service is being designed to come on Apple devices preinstalled rather than as an app download.

The New York Post reports that record labels are not happy with what Apple is offering to stream their music. The offer is said to be 6 cents per 100 songs which is about half of what Pandora now pays.
