Clear Channel Radio Revs Up In Q1

Clear Channel parent CC Media Holdings reports that radio revenue moved up 3 percent in the first quarter, to $632.2 million from $603.6 million, as the company's overall revenue rose 5 percent, to $1.26 billion from $1.21 billion.

Emmis Revenue Dips; May Consider Station Sales

In its annual 10-K filing with the SEC, Emmis Communications reports that net revenue fell about 21 percent year-over-year, to $242.6 million from $307.9 million in its fiscal 2009. The company also said it has stations in New York and Chicago "where we believe the sale value could exceed the prospects for cash flow generation."


Coursolles Close On Heartland Purchase

Jim and Diane Coursolle close on a previously announced deal to purchase a controlling interest in Heartland Communications Group. The deal involves 10 Wisconsin and Michigan stations.

CBS, Fox Back In NAB

CBS Corp. and Fox Broadcasting have rejoined the NAB, with CBS bringing 130 radio stations, along with 29 TV stations, back into the fold, while Fox has 27 TV O&Os and the MyNetworkTV service. NAB President/CEO Gordon Smith said, "Today is a great day for broadcasting, for NAB, and for the tens of millions of Americans who rely every day on CBS, Fox, and other broadcast programming for highly valued content."
