Townsquare Buys 12 WA Stations From NNB

Townsquare Media has agreed to purchase 12 stations in Yakima and Tri-Cities, WA, from New Northwest Broadcasting. Townsquare currently has 11 stations in the markets and will, after some signal swaps, put a number of stations into a divestiture trust after the deal closes.

FCC To Vote On 'Net Neutrality'

FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski has circulated what he called "draft rules of the road to preserve the freedom and openness of the Internet" to the commission, and a vote on the proposal will be held at the December 21 open meeting. Genachowski said the proposal, under the FCC assumes wide authority over Internet network management, is already receiving "broad support." But FCC Commissioner Robert McDowell called the proposal an "ill-advised maneuver" that "smacks of coercion."

He writes, "What was once the exclusive domain of local radio stations will soon explode into a universe of digital entertainment from anywhere and anyone in the world."

Z100 Jingle Ball: As Seen On TV

WHTZ (Z100)/New York's Jingle Ball holiday show is set to be televised for the first time, on cable net Fuse. The show will be held December 10 at Madison Square Garden, and it'll be seen on Fuse on December 16 as part of the "Fuse Presents" series.

The Premiere-syndicated Dr. Dean Edell Show will conclude on December 31 as Edell decides to end the show's 30-year run.
