Salem Communications reported first quarter broadcast revenue decreased 1.6 percent to $43.2 million from $44.0 million in the first quarter of 2012. Station operating income decreased 7.7 percent to $13.7 million from $14.8 million. On the positive side, Salem says its Internet revenue increased 30.7 percent and represented 17.5 percent of first quarter total revenue. Overall, Salem reported a revenue increase of 2.5 percent, which includes radio, Internet, and publishing and is projecting a revenue increase of 2 percent to 4 percent in Q2.
