CBS L.A. Market Manager Steve Carver says programming veteran Rick Thomas will program K-EARTH (KRTH-FM) and The Wave (KTWV-FM) beginning June 17th. VP of Programming Kevin Weatherly said, ?I?m beyond thrilled that Rick is joining CBS Radio in L.A. and he is the perfect choice to program K-EARTH and The Wave. I had the privilege of competing directly against Rick in my first PD job in San Diego, so I know we are getting a warrior and a winner to lead these two great stations.?
Thomas has worked at KYLD/San Francisco, KSFM/Sacramento, XHTZ/San Diego and throughout much of the 90s Thomas worked for New World Communications, Jerry Clifton's consulting group, where he played an instrumental role in the growth of several stations. Thomas is also credited with developing rhythmic oldies and rhythmic AC formats in various markets which led to unprecedented ratings at XHRM/San Diego and at KUMU in Honolulu, where he has served for the past four years as director of programming for the Ohana Broadcast Company?s cluster.
