You've read about how aliens invaded Alabama radio station WMUS. Now it's time to meet the brains behind the invasion. Program Director Brian Rickman was trying to create a little buzz for his flip from CHR Top 40 to Triple A. What he received, when listeners actually believed aliens were invading, was bucket loads of national attention. The reaction forced him to end the stunt early and explain to the community that, in fact, there were no aliens. We spoke to Rickman about the execution of his idea and the reaction and coverage the flip received. He tells Radio Ink this proves how radio can still work and how powerful and creative the medium is, if you only use your imagination. Would he try this stunt again? You may be surprised by his answer. LISTEN HERE and congratulate Rickman on a job well done HERE

How can this stunt be considered original or innovative since an almost identical prank was pulled on radio back in the 1930's? Remember "War of the Worlds"? Google it.
