Humphries writes about his ordeal with the health care system which was unable to diagnose a lump he found on his neck -- and waited weeks before getting checked out. Turns out Humphries had a rare disease called Necrotizing Lymphadenitis. The doctor who operated on Humphries said he had only seen it twice in his 30 years practicing medicine. The disease ate away at many of Humphries' veins inside his neck and compromised his jugular. They are not sure if it will recur. Humphries writes about his situation in The Washington Times.
