Five Radio Companies Collaborate with Shazam for 'Audience Measurement Solution.'  You can bet that the five radio companies involved here – iHeartMedia, Cumulus Media, Entercom Communications, Cox Media Group, and Sun Broadcast Group – are hoping this venture with audio recognition technologyshazam developer Shazam will result in a listening measurement system that will truly "deliver market- and station-level audience metrics across all radio formats."  A press release from the firms announces this new "measurement solution for broadcast and digital audio" using the several companies' "proprietary data assets and measurement capabilities."  They say the measurement solution will "leverage information collected from tens subramanyamradhaof millions of devices to produce the accurate, stable cross-platform audience metrics that the industry has been waiting for."  iHeartMedia president of research and insights Radha Subramanyam says, "Shazam delivers unparalleled audio insights that will enable stable measurement across both digitalbouvardpierre and broadcast radio, making this an extremely exciting initiative for both iHeartMedia and the audio industry.  The richness of our data, combined with Shazam's measurement capabilities, will enable much deeper insights than traditional audio measurement does, and we believe it's a necessary and valuable addition to the evolving multi-platform audio measurement marketplace."  Cumulus Media chief insights officer Pierre Bouvard adds, "Shazam's fielddavidaudio insights can be an empowering measurement tool for Cumulus Media, as well as the audio industry.  Clients are demanding more insights and targeting capabilities from media companies, and radio needs to offer what has become basic table stakes.  Shazam can help us deliver on these expectations."  Entercom president and CEO David Field says, "With this type of innovation, we believe media strategists and planners will be prompted to re-think their media mix models to give radio its fair share of the media buy."
Justin Riley to Program CHR 'Power 93.3' and Hot AC '106.1 KISS-FM' in Seattle.  Programmer Justin kpwkRiley joins iHeartMedia Seattle to serve as the PD for CHR KPWK "Power 93.3" and hot AC KBKS "106.1 KISS-FM."  Riley says, "I am beyond thrilled that iHeartMedia has asked me to take on the responsibility of leading these two exciting new brands inkbks Seattle.  As a Northwest native, it has always been a dream of mine to program in the Emerald City.  And as a lifelong Seahawks fan, I'm excited to add my talents to that of the insane 12th Man!"  Riley previously served as PD for the company's CHR KKRZ "Z100" and hip hop KXJM "JAM'N 107.5" in Portland.
Mann Returns to Classic Hits WGRR, Cincinnati for Nights.  Cincinnati air-personality Steve Mann returns to the station at which he got his start in radio and where he worked from 2006 through 2009.  Cumulus mannsteveMedia brings Mann aboard to host the evening show on classic hits WGRR and to serve as the assistant program director for the station.  For the past seven years, Mann has hosted PM drive at Hubbard Radio's crosstown hot AC WREW "Mix 94.9." Cumulus Media Cincinnati OM, WGRR PD and corporate program director/classic hits Keith Mitchell says, "We are very excited to welcome Steve back to 103.5 WGRR.  Not only are we getting a top-flight talent who is entrenched in Cincinnati, but Steve returns to knock the rust off his programming tool belt and adds duties as WGRR's assistant program director."
