Pepe Promoted At ASCAP

ASCAP has promoted Christine Pepe to VP of business and legal affairs. Pepe will continue to be responsible for structuring and negotiating licenses and other agreements, as well as providing legal and business support to the ASCAP Foundation and the ASCAP Legislative Fund for the Arts. Pepe joined ASCAP in 2008 as director of legal affairs. Prior to ASCAP, Pepe practiced copyright and entertainment law at the New York Office of McDermott, Will & Emery.

Mason Promoted To VP/GM For NASH FM/NY

Maire Mason moves from general sales manager at Nash FM 94.7 in New York to vice president/general manager for the station. Mason is a vet in the NYC market, having previously held positions as director of sales for Merlin Media and Univision Radio. Mason also spent nearly three decades as vice president/general manager for CBS Radio NYC.

President and Chief Executive Officer of Cumulus Lew Dickey noted on his new VP overseeing Nash FM in New York, "Maire is a terrific leader and a talented broadcaster. We're excited to have her take on a larger role with our company as we build NASH into America's leading lifestyle and entertainment brand for country music fans."

O'Malley Promoted to SVP Westwood One

Westwood One has promoted Cumulus VP-Brand Solutions, Paul O'Malley to Senior Vice-President- Strategic Sales Partnerships, for Westwood One. Strategic Sales is a newly-created  division for Westwood One that will specialize in multi-platform programs for Westwood and Cumulus. Wheeler Promoted to Ops Manager In Detroit

WJR PD Mike Wheeler is promoted to Operations Manager for Cumulus' Detroit radio stations WJR, WDVD, WDRQ, and WDRQ-HD2. Wheeler will oversee programming for all stations, working with programmers Lori Bennett and Robby Bridges. The Detroit native started his radio career on the air at WNIC, WABX, WHYT and WCZY. He joined Cumulus in September from Clear Channel, where he was Regional Program Manager for Clear Channel?s Connecticut stations. Wheeler has also programmed DaveFM in Atlanta and was Regional VP of Programming for Clear Channel in Atlanta, St. Louis, and Toledo.

Ryan Promoted at CBS Radio

Jim Ryan has been named Senior VP of Programming at CBS Radio, making him the point person for all of CBS Radio's music stations. Ryan also extended his contract with the company as PD at WCBS-FM and WWFS-FM in New York City. 

CBS Radio Executive VP of Programming Chris Oliviero says, "Jim is universally recognized as one of the premiere music programming minds in the industry, and he surely has the ratings resume to back it up. This well-deserved expanded role will allow our stations and programmers to benefit from his world class experience and knowledge.? Ryan has been with CBS Radio since April of 2010.

Matt Smith Promoted To Market Manager

12-3-14

Beasley makes it official, giving Smith the title of VP/market manager overseeing WJBR-FM in Wilmington and a cluster of three AM radio stations in the Philadelphia market that include WWDB-AM, WTMR-AM, and WTEL-AM (formerly WIP-AM). Smith was interim market manager for Beasley Philadelphia after the retirement of Natalie Conner in June. That's when the company still owned WXTU and WRDW. Those two stations were swapped to CBS. Beasley picked up WIP-AM in the swap which has been changed to WTEL-AM. In 2013, Smith was named one of Radio Ink's Best Managers in Radio.

Smith began his career with Beasley in 2003 as an account executive in the Beasley Broadcast Las Vegas cluster. In 2006, he was named local sales manager, an additional promotion to general sales manager occurred later that same year. By 2007, Matt was offered the opportunity to lead the sales efforts at Beasley's WJBR-FM in his hometown of Wilmington, DE. He joined WJBR as general sales manager and by 2009 was named director of sales for Beasley's Philadelphia FMs.

Bauermeister Promoted In Tampa

Fernando Bauermeister is the new Vice President of Sales for the Tampa Clear Channel cluster. Bauermeister will oversee all sales operations for Clear Channel's nine stations in that market. Bauermeister has been with Clear Channel for nine years, most recently as GSM at the Tampa cluster. He's a 21-year radio industry veteran.

Brannigan Promoted To GM In Wichita

Beverlee Brannigan continues her rise through the ranks with Journal Broadcast Group and she debunks the belief that general managers only come from the sales side of the radio business. Brannigan started out as a PD for Journal in Omaha back in 2001. On Wednesday, the company named Brannigan VP/GM in Wichita where she'll now run Journal's six-station cluster in that market while maintaining her position as VP of Programming throughout the company. Brannigan is also one of Radio Ink's Most Influential Women in Radio. She replaces Eric McCart.

Executive VP Steve Wexler said, ?Beverlee is a trusted and respected leader who embodies our core values of integrity, excellence, determination, and innovation. Our radio stations are in excellent hands with her at the helm. I couldn?t be more excited for her and for our Wichita team. Benz Promoted in Pittsburgh

WXDX-FM morning host Tim Benz is now Sports Director for all of Clear Channel's Pittsburgh stations (WDVE-FM, WXDX-FM, WKST-FM, WWSW-FM, WPGB-FM and WBGG-AM). Benz will host a daily sports show on ESPN 970 and produce segments for the other stations. Benz has morning how host on WXDX since 2006. Hastings Promoted To Rock Format Leader

Cox Media Group is giving Keith Hastings more responsibility. In addition to his role as PD for KISS 95.5 FM and KTKX 106.7 FM in San Antonio, Hastings will work closely with Steve Smith, CMG?s VP of radio programming, and all of CMG?s rock program directors at the company?s other rock stations ? WXXJ-FM in Jacksonville, WBAB-FM in Long Island, WSUN-FM in Tampa, and KJSR-FM in Tulsa. 

CMG Executive VP Kim Guthrie said, "We were incredibly fortunate to add Keith Hastings to our programming team earlier this year. He is a seasoned pro in the rock format, making this a natural step to put his rock instincts to work with all of our Cox Media Group rock stations across the country."

Hastings has worked for some of the most iconic brands in several variations of the rock format. His career as a rock programmer spans four decades, including program director at Greater Media?s WCSX in Detroit, Entercom?s WAAF in Boston, Saga Communications? WHQG and WLZR in Milwaukee, Wis., and WAQY in Springfield, Mass.

Cumming Promoted at NAB

Ann Marie Cumming has been promoted to Senior Vice President at the National Association of Broadcasters. Cumming gets additional responsibilities tacked on to her role overseeing the NAB's communication with reporters. She will also continue to run the NAB's newsrooms at both the Radio Show and the NAB Show in Las Vegas where over 1,700 reporters from all over the country converge.

Cumming joined the NAB Government Relations staff in 1994 following a stint on Capitol Hill with Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-VT). She later moved to the Communications department where she worked for five years and was promoted to director, Media Relations.

In addition, Shermaze Ingram was promoted to Senior Vice President at the NAB late last week. Ingram is in the NAB Marketing department where she reports to Executive VP Michelle Lehman. Shermaze does a lot of work marketing the Radio Show.

Driscoll Promoted At Boston.com Streamer

Radio BDC PD Paul Driscoll has been named Director of Operations and Program Development for the 24-hour, streaming radio station on Boston.com. The station is coming up on its one-year anniversary. Driscoll has deep roots in Boston, serving as program and music director for WFNX-FM for 10 years prior to establishing RadioBDC in August 2012. Preceding his time at WFNX, he was an artist development representative with UMG.

Keaney Promoted To D.O.S. in Boston

Keaney, who has been with Greater Media Boston for the past five years, most recently served as the GSM for WKLB-FM and WBOS-FM. Previous to that, he worked as the D.O.S. for Comcast Spotlight from 2004-2008, GSM at Mix 98.5FM from 1998-2004, and as an AE at Kiss 108 Boston and KIIS-FM Los Angeles from 1990-1998. He will now oversee sales for WMJX-FM, WBQT-FM, WKLB-FM, WBOS-FM, and WROR-FM.

Chessare Promoted To Market Manager In Detroit

Greater Media says Steve Chessare will now run the company's Detroit cluster, including WRIF-FM, WCSX-FM, and WMGC-FM. He's promoted from the Director of Sales position. Greater Media CEO Peter Smyth says, "Steve brings a tremendous wealth of experience, knowledge, and leadership to our team. We look forward to having him take our Detroit cluster to the next level.? Chessare replaces Steve Kosbau, who left the company to pursue other interests.

Prior to joining Greater Media, Chessare served as the Senior Vice President of Sales for Westwood One Companies. Before Westwood One, he was the General Sales Manager of Clear Channel?s WLTW-FM in New York City, and also held various positions at CBS radio, including Vice President/General Manager of CBS Radio Sales, the national sales division of the company?s radio division.

Dorismond Promoted to VP at Lotus

Coles Promoted to VP Programming West

Clear Channel makes the announcement of the Tony Coles promotion who most recently served in a dual role as VP of Programming for Clear Channel Chicago and National Hot AC Brand Manager. Prior to that, Coles held the position as Clear Channel's Regional VP of Programming for the West and Operations Manager in Portland, Ore.  Coles will report to Brian Olson, Senior VP of Operations, and will be based out of Chicago. Foley Promoted To VP Of Sales In Cleveland

Clear Channel Cleveland elevates Kristin Foley from Sales Manager to Vice President of Sales. She will now oversee sales for six stations in Cleveland. In 2006, Foley joined the Sales Management team and most recently oversaw WMMS-FM, KISS-FM, and 99X. In 2008, Foley received Clear Channel's National Pinnacle Award for Excellence, recognizing her as one of the top sales performers within the company.
