ESPN Radio Debuts New Podcast Series

The new series of podcasts is called  ESPN Perspectives which the company says will be dedicated to "in-depth storytelling and provocative conversations." ESPN Perspectives is three original shows that provide listeners an inside perspective on sports. Capital Games will be hosted by ESPN.com senior writer Andy Katz and ABC News political director Rick Klein; Inside Out is hosted by Prim Siripipat; and SportsBiz will be hosted by ESPN sports business reporter Darren Rovell. In its premiere, all three podcasts are dedicated to the one-year anniversary of the Boston Marathon bombings.

VP of Production and Digital Audio Charita Johnson says, ?ESPN Perspectives will provide exclusive and thought-provoking content at the intersection where sports influences one?s perspective on topical psychological, business, and social stories of consequence. RAB Premieres 'RAB@Work' Video Series

The RAB releases the first in its new video series RAB@Work: The Q Report, filmed on location at Hubbard Radio's WTOP in Washington, DC. In the video, RAB President/CEO Erica Farber talks with WTOP SVP/GM Joel Oxley and Cromwell Group President Bud Walters. The video also has updates on RAB software, the Sprint FM chips initiative, and more. Watch the video here.

SRN's Tradup in Guatamala For Special Series

Salem Radio Network vice president/news & talk programming Tom Tradup spent the past week in Guatemala preparing a week-long SRN News series titled The Poorest of the Poor. Tradup said, ?We always strive to be 100% objective covering any story. But for me?especially as the father of two?many aspects of this trip were heartbreaking." Guatemala suffers from the lowest malnutrition rate anywhere in the Western hemisphere. Tradup embedded with the American relief agency Food For The Poor to cover the story of impoverished children in Guatemala.

NABEF Announces Employment Webinar Series

The NAB Education Foundation says its spring Broadcast Career Link webinar series will begin Wednesday, March 14.  The webinars will provide continuing education programs and best practices for both recruiters and job seekers in the broadcast industry. The webinars will be free for job seekers. The first webinar, titled "Show Me the Talent! New Trends on Seeking the Right Person for Your Job," will discuss unconventional strategies and social media tactics on how to position jobs to reach the appropriate audience.

Other webinars include: "Talk is Cheap - Using Social Media to Land Your Next Job," "EEOC Updates: How to Prepare and Stay Compliant," "Job Seeking Strategies for Broadcast Engineers," "A Great Sales Team Starts with Great Leadership," and "Does Your Resume Need Polishing? Pandora Launches Personalized Concert Series

Pandora has launched a new series of free, live concerts which will debut December 13th in Portland, Oregon, The first band to be featured will be Dawes from Southern California. Invitations for this new series are being sent based on each listener's musical preferences on Pandora, such as stations they have created and songs they have thumbed-up. Pandora data shows that Portland-area listeners are 25 percent more likely to enjoy a Dawes song and 30 percent more likely to create a Dawes station on Pandora than listeners in any other U.S. city.

Pandora Founder and Chief Strategy Officer Tim Westergren said, "Connecting artists and their fans is a central part of our mission at Pandora and we bring some very unique capabilities to that task. Our data shows that Dawes has a sizeable potential audience in Portland and we're excited to help bring them together."

Taylor Goldsmith of Dawes said, "As we have traveled the country, we often hear from our listeners that they discovered us on Pandora. We are excited that, now, through this new concert series, we'll get to connect in person."

Pandora listeners can look forward to more of these types of concerts in different cities across the country in 2012. The Portland event, for people who are 21 years of age and up, is presented to Pandora listeners free of charge. The show will take place at Portland's Mississippi Studios.

Federal News Radio Launches 9/11 Series

Federal News Radio (1500 AM) HAS launched a special series called ?9/11; A Government Changed.? It's an exclusive series that takes a look at the September 11th terrorist attacks and its impact on the federal government. This series reflects upon the ten year transformation within the federal government, both subtle and dramatic, encompassing everything from building security to computer security to how agencies hire and perform background checks. Federal News Radio covers the government?s newest additions; including the start of homeland security, an influx of federal employees, two wars and a number of congressional subcommittees to oversee homeland security issues.
