Federal News Radio (1500 AM) HAS launched a special series called ?9/11; A Government Changed.? It's an exclusive series that takes a look at the September 11th terrorist attacks and its impact on the federal government. This series reflects upon the ten year transformation within the federal government, both subtle and dramatic, encompassing everything from building security to computer security to how agencies hire and perform background checks. Federal News Radio covers the government?s newest additions; including the start of homeland security, an influx of federal employees, two wars and a number of congressional subcommittees to oversee homeland security issues.
Federal News Radio Program Director, Lisa Wolfe says, ?What we?ve discovered in the course of reporting on this series is the government has made some definitive progress toward better coordination and communication among agencies. Technology, hiring practices, acquisition, there isn?t one aspect of government that hasn?t been affected by the impact of 9/11.? The series will run on Federal News Radio and FederalNewsRadio.com through September 11. Federal News Radio broadcasts in the Washington, D.C. metro on 1500 AM and 820 AM in Frederick.
