Univision Radio President/COO Stone To Retire

Univision Radio President/COO Gary Stone will retire at the end of the year, after 40 years in radio and 25 with Univision Radio and predecessor Hispanic Broadcasting Corp. Univision has launched a search for Stone's successor.

LBI Media reports that its net revenue moved up 11.6 percent in the the third quarter, to $30.7 million from $27.5 million in Q3 of 2009. The radio segment was down slightly, dipping 0.4 pecent, to $16.4 million, while TV reveue was up 29.6 percent, to $14.3 million.

Tribune Co. Chairman will leave the company when it finally exits bankruptcy. He told CNBC he will turn Tribune over "to whoever the creditors decide they want."

Survey Looks At Passion For Radio

A survey conducted by VIP Research in conjunction with researcher Mark Ramsey found that 37 percent of respondents would "be very unhappy" and would miss radio a lot if their local radio stations went off the air. Ramsey says that, although that's "reasonably strong," the number of respondents who feel they could live without radio fairly easily should sound some alarms.
