Arbitron did not release the name of a media related Fresno resident when it notified stations about its tainted numbers. Arbitron did say KJWL-FM and KYNO-AM "may be substantially affected." Turns out someone in the media received diaries and Arbitron has ways of finding these things out. KWJL-FM is owned by The Ostlunds and KYNO is owned by Fat Dawgs 7 Broadcasting. Arbitron says six Spring 2013 phase 2 Fresno metro diaries were returned from the "media-affiliated household."
Arbitron says the diaries were In-Tab for the originally issued Spring Phase 2 Arbitrends data and it told stations they should not be included in the In-Tab sample. Revised spring data, based on an In-Tab sample that excludes these diaries, will be sent to stations today. Estimates for ESPN affiliate KFIG-AM may be affected to a lesser extent. Arbitron says, "estimates to stations that were not recorded in the deleted diaries may be slightly affected as a result of sample balancing and reprocessing procedures that accompany deletion of any diary from the sample."
