The Pew Research Center released its annual study on how Americans take in their news. The report showed radio remains steady, but overall, news consumption is declining, especially among the younger generations. Even though we've seen explosive growth in smartphone devices and tablets, the Pew research says those gadgets are not increasing news consumption, specifically pointing out the continued decline of the newspaper. TV news viewership is also down. The Pew report concludes the younger generation just does not enjoy following the news.
For example, "In 2004 Gen Xers reported following the news about as often as they did in 2012 (63 minutes versus 66 minutes#. The eight-year trend for Millennials was equally flat #43 minutes versus 46 minutes). According to the report, Radio is the traditional news source that has held its own the best among the younger cohorts as they age. 38% of Xers say they got news from radio ?yesterday? and 27 percent of Millennials said the same.
